Corum Online (GPotato)

I received this in the newsletter I'm subscribed to with GPotato:

GPotato is proud to announce our new MMORPG, Corum Online! Corum Online will be beginning it's Closed Beta at 5:00PM PST on January 10, 2007 (Wednesday). Players can participate in the Beta with instructions to be found at http://corum.gpotato.com or at the General Forums at http://corum.gpotato.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=8 or on our beta partner site, www.FileFront.com.

Corum Online, which was a huge success in both Korea and Japan, is a fantasy MMORPG with a very unique Guild and Dungeon system. Guilds and Clans unite in order to not only clear dungeons and instances for loot, but also to claim those places as their own. Instances all over the world can be controlled and owned by guilds. Those instances give those guilds certain bonuses such as resources or even power. Not only that but you can train and summon your own guardians that will defend these instances for you while you're away.

Like all GPotato games, Corum Online will also be Free to Play so your current GPotato ID can be used to start right away! So what are you waiting for?!

The screenshots don't seem to be all too appealing, but I'll give it a try at least. Thought I'd throw a heads up to anyone else who has a GPotato account and is looking to try a new game out, good or bad.

think Corum 2 is comming out pretty soon, makes it kinda pointless to release Corum 1....but hey, gpotato has done a pretty darn good job so far so i'm not complaining

Another release from GPotato? Worth a try; they made good step forward with Rappelz's skill system, which I liked a lot and they also did ok with FlyFF. Even though I've since stopped playing both of them due to them being grindfests, maybe they'll make a decent F2P game yet.

I don't get it? It felt like a 100mb mmorpg instead of a 600mb mmorpg? So how does a 3gb mmorpg feel in comparison to a 2mb mmorpg?

This game is terrible.  The netcode is crappy, the graphics are horrible, the resolution is terrible and not changable, the controls are akward and unresponsive and you'll constantly find yourself stuck behind other people or on objects.  The only good thing about it is that the game isn't a grind from the beginning but the areas are crowded and the spawns aren't very fast.  Avoid this one unless its the best thing you can run on your computer or you just love really old generic korean mmos.

How can you say that, you don't get any quests 'til level 5...and to get to level 5 without any quests you have to grind your way up to that level just to open the quests.

I guess I should have worded it differently.  What I mean is the game doesn't seem to be a long/difficult grind.  You gain levels fairly quickly at the beginning, and it didn't seem to be slowing down much by the time I uninstalled.  That doesn't change the fact that it's boring though.

You guys are wrong this game is very easy to lv so lving to lv5 is not even considered a grind and pluss you get quests since lv1, you  probally could get to lv20 in about 3hrs. Dont get me wrong im not saying its the best game or good game at all...just get your facts straight

played but its pure crap, actually a waste of time, it took me more time to download it then enjoying the game

the reason why they lauched corum 1 is probably because the 2 is comming out.

  • potmanpotman Member Posts: 1
ok if you guys are having trouble with the updating you have to manual update goto ftp://38.112.59.152/

you have to download form the first update to the last then after that delet the old CorumViewInfo.ver and

     rename the CorumViewInfo_New.ver to CorumViewInfo.ver

i am not taking credit for this and sory if this was already posted
