    Not 100% sure on this but,a company made the game.Sold it to 2 different companies.They are the exact same thing pretty much,only difference is Voyage Century is Item Mall and Bounty Bay is subscription.

        I imagine its something like a McDonalds franchise. You buy the rights to the software. Setup a server. Then make a profit. A portion of all profits likely head back to the parent company. Pretty spiffy little deal if you ask me.
