These games have been around for a good few years and always seem to capture and keep an audience and delve them into a real online world.

The future doesn't look bright, the future looks dim.

    EvE aint Oldschool. WoW is only 1 year older is it oldschool in 1 year? BTW i dont see Ryzom as Oldschool actualy its only 2 month older then WoW oO.

    Ultima Online is my special game I played for so many years.  It was my first, and no game I have played has rivaled it so far.

    Ultima Online has been out for such a long time that the other games should not be considered along side it.  Anarchy Online came out AFTER EverQuest had launched two expansions...(I think).

    Also, I have no idea what you mean by "capture the audience".  The audience for Anarchy, Ultima, and Ryzom is so small in comparision to other titles that if anything, these games hold on to audiences due to their place as a "classic mmo".

    Plus, what the hell is a "real online world"?  Oxymoron, FTW

    I don't think anyone on this board can forget EVE.  The player base that comes here won't shut up about it long enough for anything to feel nostalgic.  :)

    In my view Everquest was the best old school and probably best MMORPG of all time... And before you start typing remember your views are corrupted from WoW and other new ones that are out... Think back to like 1999+ before WoW how Everquest CAPTURED the mind and created such a fun world for everyone to play in. I was hooked the FIRST day I tried it. Played it for many years. Everyone I know loved it and you could group solo had the greatest number of items and mobs and everything. It was just the most amazing thing ever made. So again before trying to argue saying WoW is better think who set the standards... Porting... Druids and Wizards in EQ... Gear... Everquest had by far the most gear and upgrades of them all... Tradeskills yet again Everquest had fishing, fletching, cooking, etc etc... Pets had mage then came beastlords I mean they had the best from the beginning.

    If you can solo one monster... take the giant train i just made, thanks.
