Don't let the graphics fool you. Don't let a short free trial fool ya either. Although not perfect, there is no other MMPOG that recreates combat and the teamwork needed than this game.
I've played almost every sim and rpg game since the late 70s, early 80s, and WWIIOL is the closest thing to the holy-grail of WWII MMPOGs.
The new update in the next week or two will be introducing some terrain changes that will really improve the graphics. Although eye candy is needed to pull new customers, the depth of WWIIOL is the only combat sim that will get you addicted for life.
Being a Marine and for the record, this game is the best game to teach combined arms combat, leadership, and other essentials if you even consider joining the military. Americas Army don't cut it. COD and MOH don't cut it. Everquest definitely doesn't cut it.
Don't try it for 2 weeks, but try it for life. The most important thing is to join a squad as soon as you signup. You can play as a lonewolf and enjoy it for a long time and join organized units in assaults, but being part of a squad is the way to go.
This game isn't geared toward the immature and quanks who enjoy swearing every other sentence. The forums are the most tamed and mature forums in any game (albeit not perfect) and the playerbase are some of the most knowledgeable historians and WWII fans there are.
If you want to be part of a combined arms experience with air, infantry, tanks, AAA, ATGs, and naval and experience better than expected FPS in all the fog of war, then try it. Trust me. You'll eventually be migrating to WWIIOL after the other 1st person shooter game problems and lack of depth bore ya, so why wait?

Yeah the game is great, And the only thing that is changing is the new 3d trees for graphics in this patch, now all we need is motars =] i think when terrian II is out more people will join up, and they really need to update the sounds they suck ass.
I havnt played about 2weeks been waiting for the patch to come out.
Only thing I can add is the not trying it for 2 weeks part.
Remeber when you first start playing the game it has a fairly steep learning curve. The 7 day free trial (if they still have them) does not do the game any justice. You will barely scratch the surface of this game if you only play for 7 days.
My suggestion is give it a month at least and as was said above hook up with a sqaud. It will enhance the gameplay greatly and make the learning period much shorter.

Actually this game is for grognards. Its not perfect, but its the closest to accurate modeling out there. Im a grognard and this is the best one Ive found.
My 2 cents now in.

Well..what i meant to say is to have some new pvt. wargamers out there try it and not be scared off by people who know the exact specs on the front armor loadout of a Panther...
Just give it a trial and believe me there is a deep flow underneath the somewhat harsh exterior
Hmmm....I thought there was a free trial. Seems like they are always talking about one promo or another atleast. Wait a bit and your sure to get one.
