The only reason I can think of that the seller said thats the best card you can have if its a "low-profile"-card so it fits into the tower/box.

If its burned out it would not work at all so Im doubting this "seller" that you asked (with FX5200 most new games would lag). Figure out what computer you have then come back,(sisoft Sandra lite is a program that could help with that).

The XFX GeForce 7950GT, a new released graphic card which is very decent. It's current value is $275 as you can read on the website I linked earlier.

Whoah.  Bestbuy told you that the geforce 5200 card was the best card your pc could have???

The 5000 series were the worst series Geforce had ever made period.

If he meant because your Mobo couldnt take anything higher than a 5200 card then I would suggest you to spend your money first in a new tower.  If your tower cannot take anything h igher than a 5200 then that tells me your tower is 3 to 4 years old.

    Invest in the tower first

    then the card.

How is a geforce 5200 the best any pc can have?

No you can have any AGP card aslong as your PC has a PSU that can power it, and anything  x800 or 6800 or before im sure it can :P

Well if you got a faster card, there would be a bottleneck becouse if the slow cpu.  Also since the guy at best buy said its the best card you can have is the 5200 then its probably a pci slot card, the best card for a pci slot would be a radeon 9250, just search it on newegg.com

Yeah The best card you can have depends on your current RAM, Motherboard Type, RAM Type (DDR, DDR2, SDRAM), current MHz or GHz,and yoru current power supply. The best one ive got is an Nvidia GeForce 7900 GX.

As Enigma said, upgrade your Tower beofre going on to the video card, you'll need the things I listed above for one.

I think it's the objective of your past self to make you cringe.
