I created 3 consecutive trial accounts for WOW and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think it's a great game. But I bought Guild Wars, not WOW, and it was absolutely the right decision for me. GW is superior for me because the graphics are awesome (althought I do love the WOW graphics and the Warcraft universe as a whole too, btw), down time in GW is pretty minimizal as the 'map transportation' system enables you to get from place to place instantly without taking 10 minutes to run from place to place, GW PVP is *awesome*, the frustration of camping is eliminated thru the instancing (I can't believe people actually complain about that?!), I love that in GW you can restructure your characters skills at will (no more gimps! And if you find an awesome new weapon it's just a matter of heading back into town to redo your setup and you can use it right away!) and the biggest reason I took GW over WOW is NO MONTHLY FEE.
GW enables me to play more tactically and think more about team efforts rather than my own personal powers/attacks all the time. The pvp element is so much more entertaining to me. Its not as much about the skills you have as it is about how you use them.
Those games are completely different. The only thing that both games share is that they are Online Role Playing Games.
This thread doesn't make any sence at all. Why does people enyoj sharing their bad experience with a game so the next thing they do is make threads with foolish language. ''IT SUCKS, ----- IS BETTER, DONT BUY THIS GAAAAAAAAAAAMEEEEEE'' How many people actually care?
- People who can't afford the game so they spam on the forum how rubish it is.
- Those ''l33t'' characters. 0mG 1 r0x!!!!11!! (??)
- People who can't play the game, because their lack of knowledge about either english language or online games.
- People who think that they are mature, because they are able to reply with even more nonsence.
- etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc

What I do love about GW in PvP is that u can only take 8 skills into a fight and you can mix and match depending on your PvP group, but for me the total lack of freedom in the enviroment and being glued to the ground turned me off GW as a PvP game.
In WoW I can jump over logs or take a short cut by jumping off a ledge (at the cost of some hp) I dont live in fear of invisable walls or have to wonder if the game will let me run up that slight incline. The speed of the action in WoW also feels faster and more arcade than GW.
GW - great tactical
WoW - better action
Mix em together and you got 1 helava a PvP game IMHO.

I like the fact tjhat you can move more freely in WOW too, I just don't like how I feel so limited in my approach on skill use. When I was doing pvp I really began to notice that movement was the more deciding factor in WOW (other than lvl).
But I agree, mixing them together would be awesome!

I think that it is impossible. It's 8 skill limit that brings tactical depth... with more skills you have better action and less depth. It is how you balance them that makes the feeling of the game. It is like playing chess or another board game, simple rules = depth.
To OP. I will never be able to compare those games. Do you want to compare PVP or PVE experience ? End-game or leveling ? There is so much to say...

ROFL those are great analogies to sum up those two games and this thread.

You can't say anything about WoW's community unless you are completly oblivious to Guild Wars. (and also considering I have hardly seen any idiots in WoW in my time playing).
If you want to drag community into this GW's is right next to runescape. I can't tell you the ammount of times I've heard some kid shout out "naked dance party!" and a bunch of people start dancing around naked in game. The ammount of idioticy is amazing.
I choose GW because I don't like treadmill type games. This is not to take anything away from WoW, I understand and respect that a lot of people like it.

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.
