MOST INSPIRATIONAL GAME?

What game, after having played it, inspired you to make gaming your #1 hobby? (assuming gaming is your #1 hobby):

Just to preface, this is not your favorite game of all time, it's the one game that forced you to buy a better PC so that you could enjoy gaming to it's fullest.

The game that did it for me was.......Doom.  I remember going to "egghead" (a software store in the neighboorhood), and seeing this awesome looking gamebox....to make a long story short, I bought the game and literally played it for 2 straight years....my gaming life began on that day, and is still going strong.

    Used to be called Dransik.

Dransik was the first MMORPG I ever played. I really wasn't into games so much, when I started this game. I instantly became addicted, the game was great, untill they added a whole lot of the stuff they have now. Still a good game, but nothing like it was before they implemented all sorts of oddities, like magic and more plussed weapons. When dransik was released they totally screwed it up, by turning it into a hack'n'slash, because they totally screwed all the crafting skills in XP and usefulness.

Dransik really got me into the world of gaming, almost 3yrs ago. Since then, I have dedicated my mind to games. When I started college, a year after I started playing, I geared my studies twords things that would help me in game development and gaming graphix.

So really, Dranik literally changed my life. LoL image

Well... I never put Super Mario down after buying it at the age of 6... then I moved up to Legend of Zelda 2 the next year... finally, I took a free offer for Dragon Warrior.

Of the 3 Dragon Warrior is the game that made me the RPG maniac I am today and am half tempted to buy a PlayStation to have Dragon Warrior 7 after finding out they made one only for the PS.  I had Dragon Warrior 1-4 but 5 and 6 were never released in the US.

As far as a video game freak... I don't think it woulda mattered what game it was, but most credit goes to the first one.  SMB is so lame now... haha.

P.S. FF7 was your first videogame?  I was a seasoned gamer by that point... you missed out on all the good games (it'd be to late now because you'd think they're all lame by todays standards)

I played a Mario game on the NES with my uncle and brother when I was 4, maybe 5. I could never beat it and always wanted to prove I was just as good at it as they were. That was my first game, but my first RPG was Dragon Warrior, it was awesome. I think Dragon Warrior really helped push me into gaming. I was better at it then my brother, and that made me think that I could be better at other games too. I can beat either of them at most games now.image

Hey, I liked the SNES! It was like my favorite console, I still own it, and IT'd still be my favorite console if I could get more games for it. It was classic. N64 was crap. Murt, you just don't know classics when you see 'em.image
