"Will there be a subscription fee to play this game?
Yes. Given the expense of creating the game, maintaining the customer service system (in-game, phone and email) and creating new content, the only way for a company to justify these expenses is with a monthly subscription fee. However, when you look at the monthly fee (usually $10-$16USD) that a player pays to access the content almost 24x7, there are few entertainment values that can top that. Basically, for the price of one movie ticket in NYC, a small soda and a small cup of popcorn you have access to an ever-changing and growing world on demand (minus short downtimes for server or software upgrades). the 40-60 dollars -- this price depends on what the company charges, as well as the price markup of the retail location you buy it... so it can range from 40-60 dollars.
"buying" your account and playing for the first month is included in the price of the retail box
the 10-16/month pays for free updates, bug fixes, and customer support
when you think about it, it's <1-2 hours of working for most people... a month, for a whole month of entertainment
Pretty much all good games are going to be subscription don't wait too long for one that's not

I can tell you've never run in a p2p (pay to play) MMO before. let me tell you that a subscription based game is usually hands down better then the free to play games. the old adage is "you get what you pay for", and this USUALLY stands true.
Mythic is a very good company when it comes to MMO's I played Dark Age of Camelot for 4+ years and loved almost every minute of it. i do not regrete a single dollar spent on the game , expansions or monthly subscriptions. They are very good about taking care of their community and keeping them in the loop as to the state of the game. IMHO WAR will be Mythics crown jewel.

hmm another question..the realease we don't know yet but is the release worldwide? because i live in the netherlands so i think the price here is 60 euro but i don't know the release date?!
release is scheduled for Q4 of 2007. Mythic is pretty good about getting a good world spread on their games. Europe will have the same release date as the U.S.. I think the Aussies will have the same release date as well. so in short yes it will be a world wide release and I'm sure the Netherlands are included in this. Although a few of my friends from Swedan that i played Dark Age with had to wait an extra 2 weeks after release before they could get it in stores, so you may want to pre-order should you decide to buy the game. Mythic may also go with a downloadable game client option. or at least thats what the polls in the newsletter suggest.

oe another Dutchman (so am I)
Release date is sheduled to be Q4 of 2007, but they haven't said anything (as far as I know) about release in Europe. I hope it will be the same.
pre-ordering will just help you if the stores don't get the game on time as they did for Dark Age(2 week delay). When you pre-order it will be sent to you, so it will be in your hands the day of or the day after release.

i would be extremely suprised if the game didnt release in europe. after all, games workshop, the company behind warhammer, is based in europe. also, the warhammer fantasy tabletop game has a much stronger following in europe then the states.
so yeah its pretty safe to say that europe will have a strong community for this game.

A: Some of our most rabid... er, important and vocal... Warhammer Online players live in Europe and around the world, and we want to make sure we treat them
Our plan is that players in North America and Europe will get patches at the same time. We also are planning to standardize customer service and online content so your experience will be the same no matter what servers you play on. We will host and manage servers in North America, and GOA will host and manage servers on their side of the ocean. You won't be able to cross back and forth, but you should have exactly the same experience.
Q. Will Europe and the US receive patches at the same time?
A. Not only will the game be released in the US and Europe simultaneously but patches and expansions will also reach both groups of players at the same time.
Hope i answered all your questions (and check the links for the supposedly not existing infos hehe)

which means 40-60 for the box and 12-18/month to play after the first month
