So Vangaurd just went open beta today, big surprize its only to Fileplanet subscribers. There seems to be a nice trend of crapy games going FP sub only for OB and im hoping that this game is half decent.



So if anyone has a fileplanet Subscription that isn't intrested in playing Vangaurd give me a PM or email, would really love to try it out.

    Vanguard is looking pretty good so far. Of course- it is a beta so it is expected to be extremely bugged/laggy for at least another month if not more. There is one thing I must say that really turns me off is having to "corpse run". Makes it far too much like EQ1 and well- that game was shit. I would love for it to appeal to pvp lovers as well as pve. With World of Warcraft- you had that choice. You could be one or the other or play both equally. That way it made the game more enjoyable and not seem like a job, whereas in EQ1- if you wanted to get somewhere you would have to spend a lifetime trying to get things that you wanted. But don't get me wrong- I love a challenge. I'm all up for working harder than I had too in WoW cause was was extremely easy to gain items/etc that I wanted. The game got old- quick. But yea, So far I'm really liking Vanguard.

    I have been in Vanguard beta since 2.5 and I must say I didn't get much playing done due to my PC being about 1 generation behind (32bit AMD XP2500+, 1 gig valueram, AGP128mb Geforce 6600GT).  I have it installed even now but the lag and bugs drive me crazy.



    Let me explain what you can expect at launch.  Vanguard is NOT done (no MMORPG really is)!

    • Fury races still do not have tails (will be implemented post launch)

    • Combat system still being tweaked
    • bugs
    • Item decay in, but my be pulled and replaced with bind on equip type system again (I hope not)
    • Most voice work still not in
    • Bugs
    • Bad performance still (especially on low end systems)
    • bugs
    • LFG system not implemented as of today (coming soon)
    • Not too much polish as of yet
    • No sitting or lying in chairs/beds (will be implemented post launch)
    • text above NPC/PC heads ugly still (don't know if this will change)
    • Boats working but might be buggy at first
    • Many animations not in

    Some positives, the overall vision of the game as stayed intact despite all the pressure from WoW players to dumb it down.  The crafting systems looks like it's in good shape and so is the diplomacy system.



    What you can expect from Vanguard:

    • Slower leveling then in most current popular MMO's
    • Amazing looking world, you WILL WANT to explore!
    • well designed combat system, fun too
    • Very cool mounts!
    • Boats big and small, some amazing guild boat designs as well.
    • Real time, no instanced player housing, you house will be seen be everyone, and possible attacked by NPC's
    • Very nice regional crafting, no more global banks and global brokers.
    If you loved Everquest back in the day, you will love Vanguard.



    I would say, give it six months to work out the kinks and add in the rest, and it should be a new home for all those displaced EQ1 players.

    I'm a fileplanet subscriber, but i see no way to get a beta key without preordering.  Am I missing something?

    Vanguard = EQ.  So if youve played EQ but want new scenery, and a new title, then go for it.

    Very fun game. I was in the open beta from start. Just went live for all you who wanted to know. It's a must buy.

    I was in the open beta and was a bit saddened that it released in the state that it's in.  More than a few too many bugs, but give it 3 months to smooth out and it could be a good game.

    Hello all, I would really really like to play Vanguard.

    I have a lot of mmo experience and Vanguard above all else has caught my interest.

    So, if any one has an entry key, throw one at me if ya can ^_^.
