Player-Run Economy MMOs

Hi, aside from Nexus TK and Goonzu, does anyone know of any other MMORPGs with a player run economy, like Nexus has player run towns and armies and Goonzu has stock markets and advanced trading.

Face of Mankind and Roma Victor are at least 90% player run economies and I know there are others that would fit the basic description.

People must like interactive screen savers, since every weekend the EVE server has broken a record for the most concurrent users on a server.

It isn't one server; it is one realm. It means that you can meet up with anyone else playing the game, but the many, many systems are still spread over a lot of servers. Put 200 people in one area and the server crashes.

I understand the appeal of EVE, however and I respect that people like it. It definently does have a player driven economy, to answer the OP. Not really for me, though.

Its breaking its personal record.  There have been plenty of Korean Open Beta's that have had numbers on one server surpass that.  It isn't a pleasent lag experience but its been done.

So lets say you want to learn about economics. OK so first you enroll in a few economic classes likes Trading and Marketing etc. but before you go to class smoke a big bag of crack, then what ever you learn reverse the logic half the time when you go to apply it. There you go, you now have the equivalent of the player run economy of EVE.

More like 750 in one area with jita. And when most people think of the game being 1 server they are really referring to it being 1 shard, as all MMO's are run on a server cluster to some extent, even WoW. The EVE-Online server cluster is just 100x more powerful.

OK i dont know if any of you have heard of this but its a game called pirate puzzles.  Pretty much evrything is player run players can own islands the equivilant to citys i guese put taxes on goods.  They can also run shops so the economy is player run.

It also used to have a 10x the players it currently has.

EVE has the best economy imho, because in almost every region there is competition to be had.

I used to play SWG(before combat upgrade/nge), made vehicles, and sold them to new players. New players would always tell me they couldn't afford it, and this was when making money was sort of difficult. So I told them exactly how to make the money to buy from me. There wasn't much competition, most people sold at the same price, and those that didn't bought and resold, the money was like water, and the economy on my server was quite overinflated.

EVE's economy can be pretty neat. No one person can really dominate it. Money comes easier for some people so they are willing to pay more slightly more for an item if its closer to them, because traveling takes time and is annoying. There are 1000s of different items to buy and sell, and the good thing is, every Megathron battleship is exactly like every other Megathron battleship.

Many people find EVE boring because during the traveling time, the in between time, there really isn't much to do or see, I used this time to communicate with other people, or read a book, or lift weights(see how many sets of reps you can do with a 15 pound weight before you arrived at your destination.) Probably quite a few things you can do along with this.

Dear man, don't you have to have players, to have a player run economy. I played the SWG trial last month and all I found was a bunch of  abandoned player housing and some lonely tumbleweeds rolling around.  I remember catching a few glimpses of  others travelling across the barren landscape and wondering if my mind was playing tricks on me, were they real or mearly spectres of a bygone age?

What about RPG-wise? I will take a look at that Wurn, I prefer to pay for a game than play a free one anyway, free games always turn out rubbish.

For economy, its basically EVE or nothing.

SWG's economy system is completely different to WoW's.

Everything you might want to buy is bought from another player, you cannot buy stuff from NPCs, except for faction recruiters but they've been there from the beginning.  So, all prices and values on items are determined by the players.  The price of say a suit of RIS armour on one server can (and likely does) vary alot from server to server.

While yes, the NGE included an increase on armour and weapon drops/quest rewards, except for weapons, everything is made better by a crafter.  A good majority of items cannot even be found as loot or rewards.

To those replying with the comment of "lawl, you need people to be playing the game to have an economy" consider this:  On an average basis, as an Armoursmith, I deal with around 3-6 custom orders on a daily basis.  On the more popular armour I make batches of about 20 suits and often need to restock the vendor with these on a daily basis.
