User Survey on MMORPGs

Hi everyone!

First of all - I'm new around here, so I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Chris, I'm from Zurich, Switzerland. I study Media and Communication Sciences, and in the course of that I'm conducting a survey on the use of MMORPGs. And since this is MMORPG.com I thought it likely to find some MMORPG-Players here :-D

Anyway - I'd be much obliged if you could take some time to fill out the survey. It will take about 20 minutes, and if you're interested you can get the results once the study is done (just leave your email).

Absolutely! But his focus is on other matters. I can't go into details here because I don't want to influence people, but you might get an idea of what I mean once you fill out my survey ;-)

Hey Chris,

I'm not sure if it is too late to change it, but if it is important to you, there are some typos in the first few pages and some of the questions weren't clear exactly, just that some of the words you used have very ambiguous meaning I wasn't quite sure what you were trying to ask. Maybe i'm alone in my thoughts.

Typos are bad, thanks for the tip. About the questions - most of the items or questions are standardized and were tested in earlier studies, though not by me. This includes their translation. To keep the whole thing reliable I have to go with them.

That said - it shouldn't worry you too much while filling out the survey. One always gets a certain ambiguity and "openness" in these things.

DOes this work in all browsers?

I reached a blank page where there was nothing but a button at the top which takes you back to the start and language selection.

The following question does not cover my genre. Roma Victor, for example is Historical and falls into neither.

Question 8:What genre is your MMORPG?

	Fantasy

	Science-Fiction

Also the following questions are worded odd, "last longer" is not clear, not sure what you are really trying to ask, when was your last gaming session or when was the longest gaming session or when was the longest gaming session within a given time period?

Question 18:When was your last longer gaming session?

Stupid survey bud you asked what mmo am currently playing at this time and i answer none because i feel that theres no mmo am willing to pay money to play at this time, and it boots me out of survey and says am not a mmorpg player lol . Bud am not playing because i refuse to pay for crap like World of Warcraft, and am waiting for a newer mmo to come out .

Yes same thing happened to me. Because I am bored with the current group of MMO's, yet have been playing them since 1997 up until just recently. I guess that makes my opinion less valid? Your survey is already stacking the deck to a certain type of player it seems imo.

Sorry for not answering earlier - I was kinda busy...

& Brainy: Of course the opinions and experiences of former (or
rather not-current) players are as important as those of current
players, no doubt about it. The point is, however, that the topic of a
great part of the survey requires me to limit the sample to *current*
players, and therefore I have to screen out non-players. So - no hard
feelings, right? ::::02::

Oh yeah, btw - the survey will stay online until friday the 22nd of
december, 23:59 GMT-1, so if you haven't filled it out yet that's your
chance! Thanks a bunch!

now that you have taken it down, can you tell us for what purpose you gathered the data, now that there isnt the change you could bias our opinoins on the survey?
