Gods and Heroes - what sort of content?

Hi all,

This game recently caught my attention so I'm not to up on what its all about. The squadron thing and combat look very good The PvP sounds interesting BUT what I am concerned about is what is the leveling going to be like? Anyone have any clue?  I have this aversion to kill task lately lol. I understand you can't completely get rid of grind and to some exstent there will always be "kill task" but what is G&H doing different?

Are you going to end up doing the pointless grind? Are NPC's going to dolling out the "go kill 10 rats" type garbage or is something different/better on the way?

I did some digging around on the website and asked there but didn't really get any solid answers. The dev's appear to be dancing around the question when I did a search. I read that they are going to put something like 1500 "quest" ingame. That right there makes me worried that I'm gonna be killing alot of rats and bugs and delivering animal teeth and crap lol.

Am I wrong? Like I said, the game looks very good and the I like the setting but I really don't want anything to do with another "old style grinder" like most of whats out there.

    Actually, we're very focused on delivering all types of quests, from short rewarding ones to the more epic and challenging type.  If we make "long" quests, we're committed to giving you quests that are more involving and not so superficial.

    Let me put it this way, if you want to grind, we're not gonna stop you, however we've really gone out of our way to put 1,500+ quests in the game so that you don't have to.  The choice is really up to you.

    LoL, a AAA title??? What the heck is that suppose to mean?  What does Asian have to do with it? Its not like 90% of western games are not garbage grinders...Before you can thump your chest "AAA titles", a few of them need to be released first lol, so far that hasn't happened.

    Anyway, yes I saw that post, again it doesn't answer the question...

    What is the content going to be like? All its telling me is its going to have rewards and there will be 1500 of them some which will be short, some more "involved" and "not so superficial" whatever that is suppose to mean.

    Like I said, that doesn't exactly instill much confidence with the track record of todays games. If its 1500 kill task (go kill 10 rats ot deliver pies) then its not going to be worth it.

    I don't think you are following what I am asking. Don't be fooled by a slick devs smokescreen.

    Let me make alittle easier to understand. Are the quest going to be

    • Story driven
    • Dynamic or world effecting in any way
    • Have any sort of dynamic choice that will have effects on the outcome of the quest
    • Any sort of instancing to supplement the storyline (if any)
    • Will they be class based or different in any way based on some sort of character criteria or will it be a simple generic string of task like SWG - NGE Legacy quest where everyone no matter who/what you are do the exact same thing?

    Or

    NPC -Hi Mr new player, I have an important job for you and your squadron in the name of the Roman Empire

    Player - for the glory of Rome!

    NPC - Good, now see there are these Rats in the sewers under Rome, go and kill 10 of them and bring me thier whiskers and as a reward I will give you a shiney copper coin. Now go!

    This is the sort of thing I am talking about and not interested in as it is the standard of MMO's. Any half wit dev could write crap like that all day until they got to 1500. Hell, I can script them and I'm an idiot.
