20% more experience

"Experience has been made approximately 20% easier across the board. The experience gained from 2 dot and 3 dot (challenge level 2 & 3) NPCs has been slightly increased relative to higher dot value (challenge level) NPCs." - patch notes

Pre-ordered again, as I cancelled the first due to the low experience gain at  lev +10.

Not much of change perhaps, but it was enough for me.

See you all ingame

I doubt this will stay in-game. Pretty sure it's to enable people to level faster during beta to test new content.

That doesn't make sense this close to release. I believe it's because it was really too slow to level between 10 and 20ish.

Hmm, this is an almost stupid question given we're in beta, but still; wha'ts your general feel on the community? Will this be a grinders game or more of a adventure-driven game, if you know what I mean..?

I have been testing the game for the last 3 hours, and the game is starting to grow on me. The crafting part is really interesting, i have gotten a lot of help sorting out the different bugs that are still in the game from enthustiastic players, the quests are fun and i just feel that there is a lot of potential for this game. This comes from a player who has enjoyed both Star Wars galaxies and World of Warcraft from their very beginnings.

Just dont enter this game believeing it will blow your socks off, because it probably will not, not yet at least

I will take my chances on vanguard and will do my best to make it a positive experience

In response to whether its a grind or adventure driven game, it will be all up to you. If you group and spend time with the community it will be all about having an adventure, but going solo and getting to max level as fast as possible then it will be a grind for sure.

if i can give you one advice - dont grind your way through it. I have grinded too many games myself, and i still get the itch to do so again - but my time as a powerleveller is definately over. I will not ruin a game for myself again

Nope. Notice the part that says: "Is experience going to stay as slow as it is right now on beta? It is unlikely but it really depends on the balance that takes place over the next week. "

"First off I would like to apologize that it took us so long to get a dev post on here. I’m sure many of you realize we are incredibly busy (and I needed to eat dinner).

With the previous patch there was a change to experience but it was unintentionally omitted from the patch notes. This was a mistake.

Our EXP system has changed quite a bit (as noted a few patches ago) and it does take some time to get it feeling just right. The primary reason experience was so incredibly and unbearable slow prior to last patch was that the group multiplier on the base experience for an NPC was missing! This means that for a short period of time the base experience of a four dot (challenge level 4) NPC was giving 5 times less than it was supposed to.

We also adjusted the experience rewards across the board to make it easier. For example we gave two dot (challenge level 2) NPCs a 40% increase in experience. This all took effect in the patch earlier today.

Is experience going to stay as slow as it is right now on beta? It is unlikely but it really depends on the balance that takes place over the next week. We are trying to zero in our intended combat times in group and solo situations and that is what determines how much experience things give. Unfortunately some of the experience changes have not been timed perfectly with the kill time adjustments for players.

Rather than spend too much time discussing experience amounts I would like to give everyone some perspective regarding our level time goals (since that is what this comes down to anyway). These times are NOT final and will be adjusted prior to release but they should give you a ballpark. For those of you on the edge of your seat I’m not actually on the verge of divulging our experience rate master plan.

That said we are targeting something like 1.5 hours to reach level 5 and between 7-8 hours to reach level 10. In your late teens we are targeting something like 4.5 hours to level and in your early thirties half a day. Don’t worry we are measuring the time to max level in hours not years.

Again these are not exact values and are subject to change but if you experience (hehe) nothing like this you can expect it to speed up quite a bit. We will be continuing to look at kill times, down time and travel time and adjusting experience over the next week. We have also taken steps so that our future changes to experience should not cause anyone’s progress in their current level to be altered.

Yes, that is the plan i think.  1-20 will go rather "fast" and will be slower for 20-40... and longer for 40-50.

    Anyways... something like that
