50$? No go find it for cheaper. Play.com has it cheaper but they can only sell/ship to certain countries.
Check your local gamestores.
Anyway, GW got boring pretty quickly, but I haven't bought any of the expansions so I can't comment on those.
Don't bother, it isn't even a MMORPG in my opinion, just a MMO ...
Community seems a bit juvenile too, maybe you like it then.
If you do end up deciding to get Guild Wars let me Make a few suggestions:
As Guild Wars is a Series of Stand Alone, yet interlocking games, you can pick and chose based on which you think suites you best.
Prophecies: Very Slow Leveling, Vast Terain and Plenty of Quests. The largest of the Three.
Factions: Very Fast Paced Leveling. Boring and repetitive Quests (IMHO) But, the easiest of the three. New Classes: (Assassin and Ritualist)
Nightfall: Medium Leveling. Medium Length, and "Heroes" to help you level that basically act as NPCs that level in real time along side you. New Classes: (Paragon and Dervish)
Most satisfying IMHO would be Nightfall when it gets down to the Nitty Gritty.
If you only have $50.00 I would most defenitley recommend the Guild Wars Series.
If you do end up getting more lose money to spend on video games, I would continue to expand on the Guild Wars collection, because it is free to play, and each of the Installments has its own special pro's and con's, and when put together, its one hell of a time.
P.S. Mysk I passed the "There, Their, They're" test with flying colors xD
The game feels like a hybrid of some of the best features of MMoRPGs together with many advantages you'd otherwise only find in Single Player RPGs.
I'd say go for it but I find the game more comparable with a highly advanced Diablo 2 or Neverwinter Nights. If you enjoyed either one of those online then you can't really go wrong with GW imho. Expect a WoW without monthly fees however and chances are you'll be disappointed.
I have played GW since the beta weekends in 2004 - I love it! Still play every day. I have all the three expansions - but I reccomend Nigthfall for new players.
Don't you worry; imo GW have it all!! Great storyline, PvP posssibilities to satisfy most players and PvE content to keep you happy for a long time.
Community is great! Of course you will be called a noob by certain, random players - but mostly, people are helpful and great!
Some things that might annoy you straight off are:
- Cannot jump and have to take long ways around even the smallest of obstacles (small fences or small cliffs).
- Instanced areas everywhere but the towns.
- Choppy movement and somewhat unpolished targeting system.
Other than that I love this game. It's the fast and skill based game I want to play form time to time without needing to play all too much.
$OE lies list

And I don't want to hear anything about "I don't believe in vampires" because *I* don't believe in vampires, but I believe in my own two eyes, and what *I* saw is ******* vampires! "
My mind has changed so much. Yet I'm still acting like I'm the same.
