WTF is EQ thinking?

csthaocsthao Member UncommonPosts: 1,123

well the serpents spine was like only released in september? and now in february they are releasing another expansion?....they are stupid as hell...im sure even some high end raiding guild havent completed the progression, and even worse i bet 75% of the population havent even gone in the higher end zones and gotten flagged for them yet...the more they keep rushing things like this, the more its going to fall harder....i bet they are releasing this new expansion to compete with WOw's expansion, but the matter of fact is that EQ has already lost, just look at the population, its pointless to compete with WoW, i suggest they jsut keep thier customers happy instead of doing some nonsense crap making more people mad and lose more customers...but o well i already quit this game, and i quit because of this non stop expansion releases...leveling up is an important thing to see new zones but jsut look at ALL the previous zones from previous expansions, almost all empty...but anyway yea thats jsut my 2 cents....feel free to hate me or agree with me....we play games to argue and its fun

Its a regular year for SOE!  2 expantions a year is how its been for a long time now.  The spring expantion will be smaller then the fall ones expect like half as many zones or the zones to mainly be instanced.  I to wish they would just release one a year since im not flying thew progression my guild just got to anguish and still working DON lol.

They keep releasing expansions to BAIT the existing user-base and milk them for ANY extra cash they can get their hands on.

Look at SWG - NOTHING new has been offerred and yet we constantly see them selling Starter Kits and All-In-One packs - and most people who buy them are current users who just want the in-game "exclusivity" of owning the "rewards" that come with the packs (barcs, shuttles and walkers).

    It all about money.

I never really understand why peoples complain about that.

When I was playing, I was always wanting more, and more and more.  And, they seem rather happy at providing more!    Complaining that your game get better?  You don't have to buy it, you have the CHOICE to be backward and lame and limited to old zones.  The choice is yours.

Money grabbing theorists...you realize they could just raise the monthly fee by $2 and avoid themselves the release of a box and all?  Folks at EQ are working hard.  I honestly wish I would still love the game.  And if it was not for 1 critical design flaw, I would.

2 expansions per year is not enought IMO, it is modest and humble, but eh!  They certainly could have optional expansions on specific servers only, builded by differents teams...

Sounds like Soe burnage to me.  Did you have any doubts they would burn you for another 30 bucks before anyone can catch up?

I played EQ for 5 years I was a top cleric in my server  but after a while I was tired the new expansions coming out with very little to add and they just aimed into bring out a new exmpansion with minimal effort to get as much $ from it. After the a while it gets you tired and you really get upset with it and thus is the reason I will never play again an online game fron Sony. Look at WOW its been out what how many years it has so many subscribers and it got out their first exapansion only this month. If it was sony would have had 10 expansion with very little content and very little features.

I will stay away from any Sonny games because of this attitute. Think about ti why WOW is so succesful? I believe expansions is one of the reasons or luck of expansions.

TSS was a good expansion, for a change. I don't think The Burning Sea is likely to be nearly as good, and will seem all the worse by comparison. But they seem to have gotten stuck in this Feb./Sept. rut, and this may not be the last of it.  I guess they have to do something to keep people going. Heck, I'll probably end up buying the stupid thing, even though the only EQ1 my account sees in my husband logging in my mage once a day to burn her double exp. Maybe I'll drop in to see what it is all about....

Let me try help ya understand if i may.Now as i understand it Anofalye back in the day ya played eq.um we had a period of expansions since ya probly didnt played that well had more bugs than features for few weeks or months after each one.

Some times it would be game breaking stuff, some time class killing or makeing some classes less than wanted on groups.if i recall right ya play cov/coh.The amount of content coh/cov has put in with issues is about the same amount of actual useful or playable content that was put into eq per expansion imho.I play both actualy e for 5 years coh/v right before issue 5.

Mostly the content wasnt that great,or was mostly buggy .By haveing so many time sinks for faction an flags players burnt out alot haveing to play one toon just to keep up. Specialy if they was in a raiding guild.A mass of bugs an meh content you wouldnt want .An it increases the rate of mudflation makeing old quests useless .

Now far as raising the fee for more content um actualy the expansions is one way thats done. But like most things in life throwing money at a problem does not always fix it some times it just makes it worse. In Eq's long an checkered past throwing money at the game neither fixed it or made more useful content imho.

You didnt "explain" anything.  You spouted your opinion on why you think EQ isnt a value as if you were diseminating some great secret of the universe.

The posters point still stands: its ridiculous to complain about new content.  Some people are just habitual unhappy malcontents.  You can always spot the type who just goes through life complaining about everything eternally miserable.  I often wonder just how good they are at what *they* do (probably not very), but thats a different topic.

Reality is if you dont like the new content, dont buy it.  If you feel the game is too buggy, stop playing it.  If you keep paying and playing and angrily buying expansions you dont want, you're a moron.  What is it with our society that everyone is "victimized"?  Its pathetic.  The folks that fly into a conspiracy theory laden rage when new content is released will have a valid point te day an SoE employee shows up at their house with a gun and makes them buy an expansion.  Until then, they're just sad cases.
