My Oppinion So Far

well just started playing today, and i gotta say its an alright game so far...

atm i've only managed to make a couple of lvl 7 char's so i really dont have too much of an oppinion but as a noob here is what i have so far...

Graphics - nothing spectacular... in fact pretty far from it... i have it on the highest settings so far and nothing so far has made me say "wow" although dont get me wrong, they are still good... already there are a number of games with graphics far exceeding these so i would have to say its a little behind its time... however their not "bad" either... i'd have to give the graphics 6/10

Control - i'll admit im a PnC junky so first getting into the game i was a little confused, however it didnt take very long to get the hang of things... the WASD movement is fairly well thought out and is pretty simple to use and allows the game to move along quite nicely... the only complaints i do have are that when i did try to use the standard mouse movement (which honestly i prefer... i like being able to eat a sandwhich while i fight ^^) they were pretty poorly done... having to hold down the scroll button to move the camera got pretty annoying, same with having to hold down the right click to use a special move... one of the things that bothered me the most was actually the "single click to attack" thing... i've seen this type of thing before and it often leads to attack the wrong target and such... overall i'll give the controlls another 6/10... not bad but still could be alot better...

Combat - this seems to be one of the selling points of the game... the combat in this game is VERY fast, infact its almost a little too fast... unlike most games where killing a monster took some time and effort, u can end a whole mob in a matter of seconds and quickly move onto the next... however after thinkin about it for a few minutes, i realized its simply the same old thing u see in other MMO's but sped up like 3 times... its not a bad thing, infact i kinda of like having it sped up like this... the combat actions are kind of weak and repetitve however... anyways overall i would have to give it a 7/10...

sound - from what i've heard so far it honestly seems pretty weak and compared to games like Lineage 2 which obviously the developers spent a great deal of time in, its pretty sad... there's no in-game music (so far) and a couple of the sound effects i could probably do better on my home mic... sry but im going to have to give this one a 3.5/10 (maybe a 4)...

gameplay - although it seems fun so far, i dont see this being the type of game i would pay for... it looks like another grind and so far i've seen no trade skills or anything else to do aside from hunt insanely fast spawning monsters 24/7 in hopes of owning everybody in duels... im a huge PvP fan and i've noticed alot of people trying to sell this game as uber PvP and such but although they have done a good job at this, i have seen alot of games do even better... anyways i do realise this game will be just perfect for some but probably not for me... i'll probably play it for a feew more days but unless something huge happens i probably wont be around too much longer... i'll give it a 6/10 here...

now for a few of the things that are REALLY bugging me so far...

drop system/money - the way the items and money drop is sorta wierd =/... i played one character to level 7 and made 30,000+ with the items i found, but then made another char to level 7 and he walked away with just under 1k... money/item drops seem to be few and far between (getting about $12 from every 5+ monsters, while somebody else the same level as me could find a drop worth 30k in a few minutes...)... anyways i could be wrong about this one but... meh...

lag - okay i know i shouldnt be complaining about this yet since it is beta (keep in mind i've played in TONS of beta's so i know what their about) but so far its really bothering me... sometimes the lag is perfectly fine and soon as i click on something it does what its supposed to... HOWEVER other times i could be hitting a monster for litterally 10 seconds before the damage even registers...

speed hackers - okay this has to be the main thing thats bothering me so far... it wouldnt be so bad if there were only a few of them but NOOOO... instead, litterally every 1 out of 10 (if not more) people is a speed hacker... i know this may be fixed come Open Beta or something but it still really bothers me that GM's/ Dev's dont really seem to be doing anything about it... like i said, i've played MANY MMORPG's and usually when u see mass hacking/cheating problems like this it means, lazy dev's/GM's which ends up meaning crappy game in the end...

ANYWAYZ overall i would have to give this game a 6/10... its deffinatly one of those "bigger name mmorpg's" out there and will probably have quite a number of ppl playing it, but its deffinatly not gonna be MMORPG of the year (or even month) anytime soon... i'll have fun playing it for the time i do but if things stay the way they are today, i doubt i'll be in too much longer... honestly i was expecting a little bit more from all the hype...

anyways keep in mind this is all from a complete R.Y.L nooby (just started playing about 6-7 hours ago) so dont take any of it too seriously... all of this could be the complete opposite in a few days...
