RF Online merges servers into Novus.
As some of you already know, Codemasters Online Gaming announced the merging all of the current RF Online servers (Spirit, Fire, Earth, Water and Wind) into one RF Online super server! This new world known as Novus, will be born on January 24, 2007 and will go down in RF Online history as the day the worlds collided.
The servers will be going offline at 9am NST (GMT) for 12 hours to enable the live merge to take place, with a scheduled launch of Server Novus at 9pm NST (GMT)
This server merge will enable players to play the game as it should be played, with mass PvP and the most action-packed Chip Wars ever seen!

isn't this very old news? and who cares this game is obviously on it's death throes
Have played:
UO, WOW, COH/V, EQ2
Currently playing:
Age of Conan (EU)
I was all interested in this game till I played it. I did have some fun with it but it just did not seem to thrill me. I read this now and wonder if Codemasters can make a MMO that will work.
RF should have been made free like Archlord, neither game warrant monthly fees, but as free games with no monthly costs they deserve to do well. Archlord is doing a hell of alot better each week now thanks to it having no monthly fees.
If RF went F2P it would definatly be the top F2P mmo out.

Also, the game is not bombing hard, neither RFO is, Nor ArchLord. They simply overestimated the amount of servers required for RFO (this has been confirmed by CM btw), it was their first MMORPG.

And sorry, but when you go from 5 servers to 1 (or P2P to F2P in the case of AL) within a year (3 months for AL) of being released, things aren't exactly going according to plan.

Saying "Not even a game like Vanguard" indicates Vanguard is better or diffrent then other MMORPG's. There is also a world of diffrence between things going according to plan and "Bombing hard".

Did you think that the comment about Vanguard is in regards to the expectations behind the game and what most people were looking to find? And even if not, how does insinuating one game is better than others make you a fanboy? It's called an opinion in that case, and he's entitled to it without you trying to throw cheap heat at him. By that logic I'm a City of Heroes fanboy, a mozzarella cheese fanboy, and a Spearmint gum fanboy.
I hate to follow the pack but... this game deserved it. The game was incredibly boring, on all levels, and is getting what it deserves. Whether you like to admit it or not, one of the previous posters is correct. You can't consider going from 5 servers to 1 a good thing for the company. That would be like Blizzard shutting down 50 servers to "Help make the community more close knit." Yeah, by making us all wait in queue together.
The fact is that the game is slowly bombing, just like a lot of games are doing with the market saturation right now. Even the F2P games are eventually going to be weeded out just because of sheer numbers, and not enough stupid kids to pay for items in a world that is so unbalanced, who gives a damn.
In all honesty, if a game isn't worth paying for, it's not worth paying for. I'm not going to sit and waste my time in a game I don't enjoy, and obviously the public is making that apparent to companies like CM as well.
I only hope that this and other news that has been cropping up all over the internet give people a sign that we don't like getting slapped in the face day after day by these crap games.
It's the curse of Dragon Empires. Since it's death CodeMasters will find it impossible to make an MMO that will remain succesful.
AND THEY DESERVE IT! MUAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

They don't make MMO's, they take Asain ones and translate them and then publish them for English speaking countries. To anyone at all that played the game this isn't news. They announced that the server were going to be merged way back in June. If they would have merged then the game would have been saved, but waiting 8 months to do it killed the population of all servers as there wasn't enough on any with the population so spread out to make it interesting. Game was fun, pvp was a blast, CM never had the support they needed from CC(they actual developers of the game) to make it work.

Then why in heavens name do you apologize to me for if you wasn't going to further comment with the first post I quoted? Your post was obviously directed at my response to the first person I quoted.

I call it overestimation, because those are the words of Zzeno on the official Codemasters forum, he is a CM employee. I base my conclusion on the facts given to us.
Even if not released, I will consider Dragon Empires to be the first MMO for Codemasters. Maybe because I was reading everything I could and was really interested in the game. I haven't done that on any other game except Chronicles of the Spellborn and I still haven't read everything there because waiting for closer to game release. I loved the story and everything with Dragon Empires. I do with CotS as well. I read all I could about RFO but there did not really seem to be a lot. I did not even look at Archlord because too many fantasy out there at the moment.
I wish Codemasters well but really wish they had been able to make Dragon Empires work because their other games have not been able to interest me as much.

Perhaps you've never seen the term used before. I wasn't apologizing to you. It's just another way of saying "whether you like it or not."
So.... Your only reason for buying that excuse is the word of an employee who is hired to speak on the behalf of the company? That's laughable. He could be the nicest guy in the world but he's not going to say one word about the matter that he hasn't already been told to say.

Well maybe you should use normal english next time, so I can understand what your saying hm?
You say its laughable, fair enough, I think its better then speculation based on absolutely nothing. nada.
