    Absolutly NOT!

    Unfortunately for these 2 reasons..

You are purchasing an HP.. who's a gamer and gets an HP honestly?

The second reason is the video card, that is 1/10th of the video card you need. I'm not sure what stipulations they have on upgrading not using directly through HP. You really need something alot better than that.

Other than that, it should run on balanced with another vid card that you can buy for about 150 bucks or so

    Id have to agree .....

I mean the machine might "run it" (but probably not). But by "run it" I mean with everything turned down to basically 0

You really would be better off going for a clone machine of some sort with a 256mb video card. The Processor is ok.... but being HP your gonna have drama upgrading and stuff....

    Brand name = bad news

Shouldnt be a problem on balanced or performance. Your 2Gb is gonna make up for a little of the power your lacking in VPU. Id say it will run A OK

you'll be fine, superior to my machine and it's quite playable, also worth noting the .ini tweaks were worth around 40% fps gain to me so I'd check out the sticky at top of page.

To the OP, please don't buy that machine for gaming, I've no idea what you're paying for it, but the video card just isn't going to accomplish the task at all, and leave you very frustrated. I'm sure you can get a clone that will be vastly superior for similar money.

2gigs of ram, PCI-e motherboard & graphics card (7000series nvidia or a ati x1900/x1950 etc) the rest as your budget allows.

It WILL run it... at about 4-5fps. The primary problems I see since you're purchasing a new computer (for you) is lack of ram and lack of a decent video card. A budget video card is NOT an option if you are a serious gamer, that system would have trouble running most titles on the market well.

    Minimum suggestions would be:
    2G of Ram
Geforce 7600GT or Radeon x1600 Pro **MINIMUM**

Buying any less than that isn't going to run this game well and won't run any future games reasonably either. You also don't want a "Media Center" pc...

It'll run... very very slowly. You're fine except for video card however... I'd upgrade to a 7600 or 7800 and your frame rate will go up about 300-400%. When buying a pc for gaming you need to remember one thing: a budget card will not serve you well.

Midrange is the cheap way to go and top end the far better way to go... a budget card is for non-gamers or people who have to load up a 3rd app but require next to no performance.

You could have the fastest processor on the market 16gb of ram... and with a budget card even of the newest generation you will still get abysmal framerates.

Edit: I just saw razorbacks post to you, if you get the game and try it pop back in here and let us know what your FPS averages/high/low are. From my experience with the integrated 6150 "card"... I don't think it will run at "playable" framerates.

    This is my system...

    AMD 3200 , 2 gigs ram, geforce 6800 xtreme 256mb

Depending on where I was I have to say this game pulled really hard.  Highest I got was in Qalia, in the boonies, where I hit 38 fps.  As soon as I went to Khal I dropped to 4 fps.

I averaged 4 to 5 fps in the Wood Elf areas and 12 - 15 in the Kojan (half elf) areas.

In Thestra it was about the same at the Kojan area.

Best area for me was Qalia but it is a sparse area with few trees and such.  The dwarf area of Thestra was pretty good because there were few people playing dwarves.

Vanguard seems fun and some of the areas are graphically stunning.  Gameplay was fun, albeit, somewhat confusing at times.  Seems like alot of options in the gameplay.  Definitely not a WoW type game.  Its unfortunate that the game does not allow for lower systems.

If you do have a lower system than stated in this thread I would recommend playing Lord of the Rings Online.  It is geared to accept lower systems and runs fine with them.

Both Vanguard and LotRO will be fun games.

This is by no means a great system, but it WILL at least run the game at ~20fps (average- you will dip to <5fps and >30fps in places)... and run most other games out now or out in the next few months at a decent frame rate.

$789.99 - That's about the minimum system required to do any reasonable level of gaming presently and in the near future if you insist on buying a computer from HP. You could build a better system for the same price from components you find on http://www.pricewatch.com/ though.

I have a Dell  xps 400=  2.8 d core, 1 gig ddr, NVidia 7900 at 256. I can run it on the highest settings but it really runs choppy around towns or a large group of people.

    searching for the next DAoC....

You'll be fine.. a slightly better video card would do you well. a 7900gs would not be too much more then that 7600GT. $175 to $135

You might check out something like an AMD Opteron 165 cpu since your building . It's MUCH cheaper, has dual core, 2 MB of cach and uses high quality silicon than the X2 chips. The opteron is also VERY overclockable. Most people OC it to 2.7 ghz.

As to the OP... I would avoid that system like the plague... Look at something else... Look for dual core, 2 gb ram, and a nvidia 7600 minimum for video or radeon equivelent.. 19** series. Also stick with regular Windows XP or XP Pro

If your in the US or Canada I would keep an eye out at TigerDirect. They frequently offer bare bones deals that are awesome. Pricewatch.com is another great computer shopping resource. Your price range is really tough to work with for a gaming rig. But if you do your homework you might come close and be happy. Tomshardware.com is an excellent resource for finding componant comparison charts.

I'd suggest 2gb ram above all.

Starwars Galaxies, An Empier Diveded, That's what it says on my box anyway.
