I have to say i have played quite a but of mmorpgs some f2p some p2p but out of all of them.... I would have to say Knight Online is my fav. Its got Decent graphics and its free, but for a "funner" experience and "more" access to playing time you can also purchase premium which i have done considering i liked it so much.
well actually i am not sure the best one, Tantra online although its not exactly an english speaking game it was fun. Rappeltz is an interesting game with a differant kind of skil system. I have played many others but either i didn't enjoy it as much or i got hacked. i have found that Gpotato has an interesting line of free games.
Im actually enjoying flyFF atm; I just started playing it to pass the time while i wait for Ro2, and it does get pretty good, mainly after your character is over level 20. The economy is a bit inflated, but ive seen alot worse in p2p games (erhhm, lineage 2 anyone?). I was quite suprised at how fun it can be partying with my brother on lan, pvping, etc. The worlds also suprisingly large and theres lots of places to explore, and the dungeons play alot like a p2p mmo does, get a party together and go take on boss monsters.
The classes are pretty varied, and you choose your individual stats to level, so you can make a character that suits you, theres less limitation on the classes. You could have say a buffing support character that can deal out nice damage as well, for example. And the cash items don't really impact PvP, as they are mostly for pve or asthetics. Its actually a really well made game, it just takes awhile to get a character high enough to see that, and its harder to figure out because of the engrish, but even l2 had engrish in it at times.
Space cowboy has a good instant action aspect, log on and start shooting. The RvR dogfights are fun, even when everyone else is 20 or so levels above you.
Voyage centrury hs a lot of variety in what you can do. It's the only mmorpg I have come across which encourages and rewards exploration for the sake of exploration.
When ragnarok online was in beta for a looong time that was a total blast, same with pristontale. But for totally free right now anarchy online is the best imo.
Last Chaos , it's completely free (free to download, free to play).
It's a Lineage 2 clone with some improvements like better access to mounts. The only downside for me is that it uses zones (you teleport from one city to another in a different zone), whereas L2 is a seamless world. It's a good game, you'll enjoy it if you like L2.
Best MMORPG I've ever played was Ragnarok Online. It was also my first MMORPG, the time while I played it was so indescribably. I'm still playing it but not so often. I think the first MMORPG you play is the best one(isn't is so?) even if it's Runescape(o.O).
Hello everyone, my name is Mark, this is my first post.....
Shattered Galaxy: C&C style mmorg, brainless and entertaining, not much gm support, about 75% of the players are Singaporean and real friendly..
SpaceCowboy: Awesome!!! Gala-net rocks !!! Active support, great community, weekly patches and events. You can earn in-game cash to trade for premium cash items or get the rare 'drop'...Look for me...!!!..... lvl...7x Igear...Hovermus server.. 'BCU'
Rappellez: See above..
America's Army 2.8: New version 2.8 basically drove away 75% of the regular players (including myself)...Laggy and glitched
War of Conquest: An 'aquired' taste in games for sure..strategy/tech tree style game where you can actually win money by holding on to certain objectives called 'Orbs'
Anarchy Online was a very interesting game, but it just felt like to much imho.
Pretty much all free games suxs, but the most non suxy was ROSE Online, well atleast back there in the free days. Now its proborally more like Knight Online...
Since Anarchy Online turned Free to play it takes the WHOLE CAKE :P, great game it just got "old" (where old = been released for a long time and fell behind on graphics and the competition is directx 9+) that's why they F2P'd it.
Others worth considering : Silkroad Online (good story and innovative pvp settings tho a bit laggy servers), 9Dragons if you like martial arts (lots of styles, good animations tho grindy as the rest) - in OpenBeta last i checked.
HelBreath... free for almost 3 years(The international version).
Best PvP game ive played aswell.

well, 2 free mmos , completly free that i have enjoyed outside of the one i pay for is RYL2:incomplete union, and rakion, they are fun for a free mmo and such.

By free I mean completely free (no monthly fee & no cost for the box). I'm asking that question as I'm looking after some good free mmos to try. So far, I'd have to say the best totally free I ever played was Silkroad Online. How about you ?
Best MMO I've played had to have been oldschool UO or oldschool EQ respectively. They have become increasingly shallow and less interesting since then to appeal to a mass audience /=
EDIT: Ahh crap didn't see free. Do UO player run servers count? =p

Final Fantasy 7

Futilez - Mature MMORPG Community
Correcting people since birth.

DirectX 9 graphic cards came out 3 years ago.
But actually making games that utilizes DirectX 9 is another story... Games i can come to think of is; Doom 3, Half Life 2, Oblivion...
Last time i checked, i couldnt remember seeing a MMO with GFX nearly as good as Oblivion... Just aint happening.
Only MMO ive heard of which is gonna use DirectX 9, is Huxley... but it wont be out until late this year.
So, get a clue mate.
