dark fall attack.

hey guys umm i wasz just wondering how u would actually attack on dark fall. my friend has told me its reallly good but i dont know what really good is to him

    Try Mount&Blade and see.

    And do it now, dont think...just do it.

    Good? Heh, your friend is just being subtle.. Nothing tops combat in DarkFall! Nothing!

    Hehe, my own personal bias aside, it's very "real time" first person combat with more abilities/spells than ever imagined for a game to have.

    All weapons/armor are craftable in game and it will be very hard to be overly "twinked" out..

    Combat is a game of chess (skill & strategy)...

    For the first time in MMO we actually need It (tactics)

    It wont be something only for the Role Players, but a hard fact of the game. Real leaders will emerge and good followers will change the DF world.

     

    The first weeks into play...there will be fun to see all people running around and thinks its like WoW

    think FPS - first person sworder (though i believe in melee combat (and only then) you switch to a 3rd person view)

    Yes, Melee combat puts you in a very zoomed in 3rd person view.. Well, just having a melee weapon equipped will do this really.. Don't have to be in combat or even be using the weapon I don't believe.

    Terrain will have an affect meaning higher ground will grant some advantages and bonuses. So will cover, like hiding behind trees/rocks etc.



    You can fight on your mount, and if you charge into melee with it, your mount has a mass which can knock enemies over or out of the way. Every actor has a phsyical presence so you can form defensive formations and block enemies from getting near your archers or magic users.



    There's also Full Friendly Fire which is going to create as many laughs as it is cursing, especially if your buddy tries to hurl a fireball at that guy you just decided to engage in melee....



    The possibilities such a system will create is pretty exciting :)



    Oh yeah, there's also no auto aim or target lock from what I read. Meaning that what you aim or swing at is what you're likely to hit, be it that friend or foe mentioned earlier.

    nobody realy how it will work yet but as above peeps said it will be more realistic then alot of mmo,s have no auto lock auto attack and just hangover and watch how player/mob dies hehe.

    The friendly fire part will be a nice wake up call from all other MMO combat.

    You cant just run in cirkels and press the attack button as many times as possibly....if you dont want friendly fire ofcourse

    remember: shit happens in combat and noone can prove it was you...

    I have heard some talk about the combat log thing, regarding aligment hits and that stuff.

    But that dont solve anything. So i rather dont have any combat log.

     

    If you are in a big important battle and your side loose because of friendly fire, the combat log wont solve anything...just get back and start  train formations...
