I dont know about you guys. But i absolutely hate the quests in Vanguard and WoW. I would much rather get 1 quest, but have to do much more for it, and get rewarded better (maybe a "pick 3" reward) or something of the nature
Its like the Paradox of Choice. You have 20 quests to choose from, and whenever you finish one, its kinda like great. 1 down 19 to go, and all i got was a tid bit of exp and a secret de-coder ring.
Take the epic quest in EQ1. Now that was a quest... when you finished you actually felt GOOD about it, and had something to show for it to boot. Im not saying i want every quest to be of an epic level, but this gather 8 berries and come back to me stuff is just plain redundant.
I dont expect anything to change due to this post, i just kinda want to know what you guys think about the quest system.
Consolidating i guess is what i think would be better. Harder/longer quests, and not so damn many.

Just my 2 cents.
Both posts make good points.
Personally I'd have to say that I would like quests with a little more meaning to them. When I get a quest that says kill 6 beetles, it doesn't really seem important to me, thus making me less interested in it's completion.
That being said, I know it's hard to come up with content especially at the low levels, so it's kinda the grain of salt that we have to take the rest of the low level content with.

Once you get past level 10 the quests start to take a bit longer to complete. I actually have never had 20 quests at one time, the most I have ever had is around 10. I always do the top ones first but I try and complete one at a time or else you run into trouble finding the guy who gave you the quest.
Last 2 days have been much easier as all the waypoints in all my quests were correct lol makes it easier to do more than 1 quest at a time. I quite enjoy the challenge of not having waypoints at all though, which some quests won't have.
All in all I like the quests in Vanguard. Really makes you want to play with real life friends as even at level 10 I had a quest that needed a full group.
