PvP-Do servers matter?

in Vanguard: Saga of Heroes
Well i have been very excited for the release of Vanguard.  Only two things make me nervous, first.  I see we have PvP and PvE servers, it seems to be they are strict in both regards.



Correct me if i'm wrong but a PvP server is anytime, anywhere.  I love to pvp but this seems extreme to me.  However, if in the PvE servers, No pvp allowed would be ridiculous.  I'm wondering if there is a flag system similar to that of Lineage 2.  I loved that system, where you can even pk if you want but your character goes chaotic.  Any Help is appreciated.



I hate to add this but i also have another concern.... my rig. I'm fairly sure i will be able to run it decently but i'd like some input for you guys who really know what your talking about.



I have a AMD 3500+

Geforce 6600

Currently a Gig of Ram- (Thinking about buying another or 512)

    Ok well you shouldnt have a problem playing at decent settings but if you were to buy another gig of ram that would help greatly..Your processor should be fine as for the videocard i think is time for an upgrade....But like the most of us here we do not have the money to go out and just upgrade when told..So being that i suggest you get another gig of ram it will not only help your gaming but increase desktop browsing and applications by a significant increase in performance..I suggest buying ram at newegg.com  great website with a large selection...Corsair/Kingston great brand name RAM with awsome performance..Hope this helpd you make a decision if you were making any at all.

    FFA PVP is the only reason I'm buying this game, please don't get them to change it :P



    Hope you find a server you like though! You would think there would still be PVP on the standard servers?



    Oh, i believe they have team PVP server as well. This might be worth looking into.

    The EU PvP server is Team PvP ruleset and I'll be playing there myself :)

    in PvE servers you can use a duel command, but I believe there is no flag system like the one you described

    and about your rig the only problem I see is the low-end graphic card, mine is similar to the one you have, but with a better graphic card(X1900GT), and I run the game at 30+fps outside towns, but that was in beta, with debug soft running, I expect to get a bit better fps once the game goes live

    If yuo change video setting to "high performance"= low video settings your hardware now is defenetly good enough. But if you need playing on high or maxed video settings you will need 1 Gig more and should get a better videocard.



    Well on PVE server the only way you can do pvp is by duelling others. So there is no real pvp on a pve server. Maybe they will add sometime an arena or guild-pvp but we are all not sure.



    I myself will play on a pvp server. There are 2 kind of pvp rulesets. One of them will be ffa, which you wont like, except you love running 24h for you life - hehe.

    And the other one is going to be Shadow/Order team pvp. Think this one would be good for you if ye still want have the feeling of beeing pked anytime too - hehe but maybe here you just need to run just 12h for your life.

    If you have the 6600 gt version you will be perfectly fine with that mate. I been using it onmy deskotp and it runs great on medium settings but u can get a lot more out of it by following the tweak guide setting up to max then lowerinfg the various options in game

    Greatness is difficult to appreciate from close up. The great mountain on the horizon is only the ground when you are standing on it.

    I appreciate the replys guys... I wonder what server i will be playing on this is not good news for me.  Does anyone know if you can switch your char from PvE to PvP freely?  That might make the difference.  Anyways, about my comp, i guess i'll buy another gig or ram... just don't want to fork out the cash on a  graphics card.  Thanks guys.
