Will my rig run Vanguard?

I'm planning on purchasing Vanguard when it goes live, but I was just wondering from all of you out there who got to test it if my system will run it ok. Here are my specs.

AMD Athlon 64 4000+

Geforce 7800 GT

2 GB of Ram

I'm not a wiz when it comes to computer specs at all. Hope somone can help me out here. Thanks!

Yes, you can run it, and you should get some good quality out of the graphics.

    Hi there,

Do you think mine will run Vanguard?

    6600GT 128MB

    1GB RAM

    AMD 3200+

I'm Sure it will run fine. Just not at top notch quality. Time to upgrade that CPU I think?

I would upgrade that video card before I do anything. Your processor should be fine, but the 6600GT might as well be an old S3 card if you want to run Vanguard. Another gig of memory couldn't hurt.

I'd suggest adding another gig of ram first.  The main reason is it costs less and you'll get more benifits from more ram in just about everything you do.  If you plan on running Vista anytime you will need it for sure then.

Your video card should be ok.  It is 2 generations old, but the 8000 series cards have not been out that long so in my opionion your good.

    Thanks man,

So you don't think I would need to get a better CPU and I should get more ram instead? Well I am about $500 in debt to my parents and have about $100 at the moment. Once I get a job it shouldn't take long to pay it off but do you think my current system will run VG for at least a month or two?

Am running a AMD 3200. 2 gigs ram and a x850 xt was running vanguard on highest quality settings with some sliders set down like shadows and few other , It ran pretty good i did lag some in the city's but very playable didnt try balanced but am sure it would have been better , I would go for the ram first myself its a cheap upgrade and than take it from there

This shot was taken with in game by me on my very modest PC. I'm going to upgrade the video card. But here is what you can see at decent frame rates on a slower rig.

Okay thanks for that info. Looks like Dany-Boy is going to have to invest in 2 1GB sticks of ram. Right now I am in debt $388NZD to my parents. And 2 GB of ram will cost me $300NZD. Not sure how much I would sell 2 512mb sticks of ram for. As a 15 year old New Zealander I don't have much to sell. So time to get a job. I might try selling my PS2 for about $150NZD lol.

I've seen how VG runs on a computer comparable to yours (with an ATI card of the same generation) and VG ran pretty poorly.  Then again if you don't mind playing on either the lowest or second lowest graphical setting you might be able to scratch by.

*shrug*  Anything below a 35FPS average isn't something I'm likely to play.

I would say the same thijng if this were a shooter. However, Vanguard is quite playable at lower fps. The lowest fps happens in cities where your activities are not dependant on framerate, Out in the open and in dungeons where most of the action happens the frame rates are the best. This isnt Counter Strike.

Yes that system will run fine my girlfriends is the same Athlon 4000 but she has less ram than you (1250MB) and an ATI X1600XT which I'd put even with a 7800 and she gets 20-25 framerate minimum often times lately much better we've been in since beta 3 and the optimizations they've done in the last 2 weeks have moved that up to 25-35 FPS sometimes even higher than 40 when not in a city.

Hi there. A Question about RAM. Will Dual-Channel perform better than 2 x Single  sticks? If so, is it worth paying more for the better performance or not?
