Before installing the game again or downloading the trial I'd like to ask a couple questions first.
I first bought the game and subscribed when it released. The game was horribly boring, repetitive, and the community was pretty retarded.
I remember when you would fight someone that you'd just have to click on a bunch of fancy colored buttons which required no skill and [that] didn't appeal to me at ALL. You press the buttons and the character did some lame arse move. Also, when I gained levels it seemed that the differences between the classes (or whatever they were, can't really remember) were trivial and gave the standard differences that ANY other MMO would supply.
I kept playing the game until they joined up with some company and my account was buried to where I really couln't get it back (even after I contacted the stupid crappy customer support) so I quit.
I know the game has changed but how much has it really?

Although I do think they require skill in terms of knowing which does what and which to use in certain situations, but I'm really not an expert in the combat system.
The lame ass moves you're talking about would probably be the Self Defense style that you have to put up with until level 10. After that, you'll be able to use three Martial Arts styles who actually don't look "lame arse" at all, and will get more and more special moves on your way to 50, which also look quite impressive in my opinion.
But if you didn't like it as such, it hasn't changed. Any other concrete aspects you'd like to know about?
which definatly Improves the combat, and makes it more fun.
There is one, is the game still somewhat of a ghost town and the people who play still uptight jerks that are noob haters?

When I joined shortly before the server merge, it was a ghost town. Then, the 9 servers were merged into 3, and suddenly, there were people all around.
However, that has changed since then, and in my experience, it's more of a ghost town again. I do run into players from time to time, but not all too often.
As for the people - when I joined 1 1/2 years ago, I asked lots of questions in the game, and the people were pretty much always willing to help out or run missions.
So, not everyone was an uptight jerk back then, and at least on the forums, I still see "noob" questions being answered thoroughly, and the people generally being friendly to new players.
Of course, you have jerks everywhere, and I'm sure if there were some before, there are still some around. Hmm, difficult to generalize a bunch of totally different people playing a game
unknown, the game is seriously one of the more challenging pvp games out there now. From what I can tell the posters on these boards seriously must be RP'ers becuase how you can say its just button mashing proves to me that my level 5 could rape your 50.
ok maybe not, but it does take knowledge and insight to win, its no longer who's the most buffed and tb'ed and who has the best clothes, my level 49 with all armored stuff can take out someone with the best gear because it truly depends on your loadout and how you play it. ive seen two people with the exact same loadout and one will allways win because he knows what hes doing and the other doesnt.
However, once you get the the highest level of pvp talent it gets to the part where its luck between you and the other elite pvp'ers, but theres seriously only 5-10 on each server id say. And they will always win in a duel, even though most people will say its just button mashing and luck.
