hate is a strong term
I think that a signifcant portion of people on these boards simply dislike it and won't play for one or another reason, and only a small percentage actually hate it.
No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

That does not excuse the problems that the game does have. Sorry, but just because 7million smacktards buy into the big shiny logo that's been thrown in their face every second of every day, doesn't mean the game is perfect.

Just because it has sold the most copies, it wont get the award for best. Im not gonna sit here and say Eve or whatever is on top is the best but Im sure it is better than WoW.

Oh, and other games do not have those problems? Your only fooling yourself. Most of the problems in WoW are also present in games like Everquest 2, Dark age of Camelot, and City of Heroes.
mmorpg.com has never represtent quality when we talk about the mmorpg.com ratings. WoW received the most awards and the best reviews for a reason. its also the only mmorpg that has done extremely well in both the west and the east, and has by a longshot the most subscribers.

please explain these problems you say the game has, all of that is based on opinions.
There are things i didnt enjoy about the game, but a lot of people love them. One mans "problem" is worshiped by someone else.

Does anyone worship barrens chat? Because the mentality of barrens chat overflows in the WoW community. The game started off fine. However, the game was high profile because it was an MMO being made by Blizzard. It got attention. Once it started pulling in people from the regular MMO crowd, it started getting tweeked tward the 24/7 non-stop 60 man raid fest for "l3wtz" that people were trying to get away from in the first place. At the same time they watered the game down to something generic and simple and then marketed the ever living hell out of it, which brought in your "general audience." Now it's awash with generic and bland content where the only thing to do is spend countless hours trying to get the next from tier one loot to tier nine hundred and sixty, and populated by a community that is perhaps the single largest collection of annoying this planet has ever seen. Couple that with the fact that you cannot escape the annoying even after you log out. I swear if I need to hear one more clueless frat fuck talking about his "paladinian or somet shit" I will shoot someone

actually barrens chat was fairly entertaining at times... especially when they were arguing about the same thing when you logged back in 8 hours later (much like on these forums). The VAST majority of gamers are casual players (such as myself), and i found the first 60 levels of WoW to be very enjoyable. It may be generic at times, but i dont think that is nessesarily a bad thing. I wouldnt call it bland though by any means, i had fun leveling, and serisouly having FUN in a GAME is kind of the point. Ya i can see why people found the end game to be somewhat boring, but a lot of people thought other wise (i wasent a huge fan), but the meat of the game is in the first 60 levels, as opposed to trying to blow through them as fast as possible. How sad that those mature Eve fans feel the need to rate WOW with zeroes in order to skew the scores. Eve is reviewed as mostly average everywhere else on the web, compared to WOW as excellent & 10/10 ect. Guess its all a conspiracy=)
