Is It Worth Getting???

Ok I seen a lot of posts from people who've said this game is awesome and everything, but what I want to know is...Is it worth getting? The NDA is off now, so what I want to know is, is there a storyline at all? Is there anything to do besides talk to this NPC and go capture/kill/whatever this villian? I heard about the graphics and everything else, but I wanna know about the HEART of the game. Any kind of loot drops at all from mobs? Any kind of crafting? I've been wanting this game for a long time, but I want to play somethin that will keep me entertained and not feeling like I'm doin the same thing over and over and over again. I'd only like to hear from beta testers though, not from people who THINK they know what it's about. Thanks

Nope, no crafting. Nope, no loot. The only "things" that you can get are enhancements to your powers and inspirations to heal you or boost defense, luck, etc.
The story is not entirely linear. There is a wonderful history of Paragon City available on the official website and that history carries into the game. Missions are definately a big part of things, but I like the stories that surround them (from what I've played). They all tie in well to the backstory of the city itself. There's plenty of information available about the city in various locations (Information booths).
Probably the best thing you could do to get a better feel for the overall game would be to read the official site and all of the information there. The fan sites should also help. I'm seeing a lot of players creating stories within the existing story of Paragon City and am very much looking forward to seeing where the more personal stories head - and how well they tie in with available missions.
It's a truly amazing game...
