I dont understand, it's called an open beta.. how does one sign up when they ask for activeation key and where do I get this activation key?

    "From April the13th 2004 Fileplanet/IGN/Gamespy subscribers will exclusively be able to download the beta client from www.fileplanet.com until April 20th when the beta will be made available to all Fileplanet/IGN/Gamespy users."

       Ok very simple. Download client from like fileplanet, offical website, etc. After that, the page where you downloaded client should then ask about email address or something like click here for cd key. After that, register it and play.

    As stated in the press release, until April 20th, only subsribers to Gamespy/FilePlanet/IGN will have access to the beta.

    No this means that IGN/gamespy/Fileplanet struck some deal, probably PR for free beta for their members and subscribers in time. It's good for Ryzom as they come out to a very broad consumer market and good for the distributers as the subscribers and members really feel loved when they get special stuff that not everybody has. the random person would still have a chance for beta.
