Where did you get information that they are using same engine?

Its listed on there Website forgot where exactly but if you do some digging around im sure you will find it.

Also I stand by what I said concerning not learning from the past when they tried to go up agianst the SWG release with there expansion. While it had a few bugs it really was not that bad (Bug wise) but they did pick a poor time to come out with it.

Personally I think they are making a major mistake if they come out anywhere near Warhammer... EQ2 should have taught everyone a valuable lesson when they went up agianst WOW (Came out around the same time) and lost big time.

You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith

    I agree

Who cares if AOC gets the fanbase because it came out around the sametime as WAR??  If you like the game then play it when it comes out.  I bet you would be more upset if you bought a completely unfinished and bugged gamenext month just so they could beat out WAR . And squeeze a little extra profit out of those of us who are looking forward to these games.  Blah.. I say bring on the pushbacks if it mean a better product for my $40 or so bucks.

I was at EB today, and asked what the release date was.  They had May 15th.  Guess nobody told them yet.  October is certainly a big push back from May or even Q2 07.  Although I am truly hopeful that this makes for a more polished game when it is released, I am also a bit dissappointed.

As mentioned above, I really hope this isnt just to make it more compatible with the Xbox.  Its not because Im worried about the maturity level of the community, but more that I beleive anything that is targeted as a real console title, always ends up in a watered down version for the PC simply becuase the PC has more flexiblity and can offer a more robust product by nature.  I dont want the X, O, triangle, and square popping up when I do a mouse over.

Best example I can think of was HALO.  Great console hit, great anticipation from PC users.  But when it came out on PC.......Lets just say it should have stayed on the console.

IMHO opinion, this title should be a PC title first, and if offered as a 360 title second then thats the way it goes - let the console gamer lack the features that a PC can offer.   But if it is the other way around, a 360 title that is then emulated for the PC - Those of us who know the difference will surely pay the price with a less robust product than would have been.

    My 2 cents.

Yeah, I get really frustrated with EB games, Gamestop, etc.  Several times I've received faulty information from them, and have felt like they will tell me anything to get me to reserve games.  As far as the delay until October, I would be willing to bet that they have legitimate issues they need to work on for the release of the game.   I really don't see the 360 as being "the reason" for the delay, and I still feel it will arrive later than the PC version.  I hope they hire a few extra employees who know what it takes to make this a 360 title so they can get to work early, without delaying the PC version.

I think that this will be the last time they get to push back the release date without losing part of their following.  If they push it back again I think a lot of people that have been following the game will lose interest.

Hopefully for their sake they get everything taken care of without having to push it back again, if they're unable to then I think it would be in their best interest to release a nearly complete game rather than pushing it back to 2008.  At least this way they won't lose part of their customer base due to the fact that they've been waiting for the game for over 2 years.

Forgive me for being a doubter, but 4-5 MONTHS seems a bit long to "polish" the game.  Remember, it wasn't that long ago that they announced that they were combining most of the character classes together.  I suspect there is some serious retooling of the game engine going on.

Hmm....sounds like AoC and WAR will be released at about the same time, unless WAR comes out with a postponement as well. Should be interesting.

I was under the impression that it wasn't "Vista exclusive."

Its not, it is a Vista showpiece that MS will be using for the sake of its own advertisements, but it will work perfectly fine on Windows XP with Dx9

Funcom has just recently announced they are redoing the entire character class system.  That probably means a substantial overhaul of the game mechanics.  Yeah...just polish and bug fixing.  I'll bet there are some programmers putting in a lot of long days right about now.

Actually, for me, this game will be the catalyst for me buying a completely new computer.  Otherwise, I would wait longer until updating to Vista.
