Yep... I just went to Gamestop today (East Coast) and they had tons of Vanguard boxes out, looked like they had just been opened up. I picked up my brother's preorder and bought one for myself.. too bad I just remembered the servers don't open up until tomorrow, so I have another 24 hours to wait to be able to play .
Why in the hells of Telon do you go to the MMORPG forum and ask this question? One - you got a call telling you it is ready for pickup, Two - you call down to eb games or gamestop and confirm, Three - you take your silly ass down there and pick it up.
I can see why he asked the question. It was a valid thread for me to read and I'll tell you why.
I also got a call from ebgames saying that my game would be in tomorrow (1/29). That day, I called (where I preordered it) and they said that they hadn't gotten their shipment in and to call back at 1pm (pst). I call at 1 and they said try 2 or 3pm, it might be a late shipment. I call at three...nothing.
I come to the boards here and see that there are other ebgames that recieved copies and as one guy put it, their ebgames had copies of Vanguard flowing out the front doors.
I called other ebgame stores around the area (where I didn't preorder) in an attempt to see if my store just had their heads up their arses...turns out none of the stores in the Portland OR area got copies.
So when I read...was the game released tdoay as a thread topic...It was a valid question imo.
But..the real question is...when will you need to use it. I began playing a few weeks ago as part of the pre-order, and although I picked up my copy yesterday, I have not been prompted to update my account to a paying one yet. (or use my release key). I logged in this morning (7 am GMT-5) and I still was able to log into the game on my beta key.....
Maybe they'll just let me play for free w/o a sub...wouldn't that be a nice bug...er feature.... I mean?
