Windows XP
AMD 64 3000+
2 Gig RAM, probably 266mhz.
Asus K8NE-Deluxe, Nforce 3.
Radeon X800 XL 256MB, AGP.
The video card is a weakpoint, I know, but I'm also thinking the CPU won't be enough and the RAM is an older speed.
I could just upgrade the video card, but then I don't think I'd get much out of it without upgrading the whole deal and getting a PCE video card.

And you just said I need a new computer but then say it will be enough.

what you need to do is wait untio the open beta for lotro on march 30th and you will see that the game looks great and plays on really low end pc's
like wow low.
I have 2 gigs of pc 4000 DDR. you could just do that. AND AGP is plent fast if you go for this card

diplomacy rocks. but remember, this is unreal engine 3. for you mmo guys, what this means is, this is the same engine that gears of war on the xbox 360 is running. its HARDCORE in the shaders department. that x800 will run it, but dont expect hardly any eye candy.
im diggin this so far tho, EXCELLENT additon to my station account. did i mention diplomacy rocks?

getting me a little worried about the spec's needed to play Vanguard,
i have a amd 64 3400 with 1.5gb ram
leadtech 6800 gt 256mb graphics
audigy 2 sound
xp home
i've had the computer a little while now, and its played just about everything pretty well so far, runs oblivion really well etc, so just how demanding is vanguard compared to other mmo's? and am i going to have a problem, besides the ram that is, i know i could really use having 2gb instead of just 1.5gb.
with my athalon 3700+ processor and gig of ram
i wouldnt run this on anything less than 2 gigs of ram. thankfully ram is cheap these days
