and it will run on full right now it will be medium. BUT if its NOT AGP... get the PCI one as it is faster
Agree. If you can take the 1950XT version as you will still get decent frame rates with all the settings maxed out and 16x anisotropic (and anti-aliasing should also be coming in one of the next patches).
Edit: If you are concerned about image quality and for any personal reason you prefer nvidia, don't take anything less than the 8800 series as you cannot enable anti-aliasing together with HDR lightning with the nvidia cards prior to the 8800. This is not an issue with ati.)
Compared to my system and to what I have seen during several weeks on the beta forums and other forums, I think you should be somewhere around high quality (but not highest quality)... but then maybe as you don't have a dual core cpu (this definitely helps the game), you could be at balanced with some of the settings pushed up further.
Outside you will run in high quality np at all. In the city we are all running at high performance in the busy areas like the crafting houses because the whole thing grinds to a halt woth FR at about 3-4 fps. If you drop to highest performance you can get 10-15 but it still stutters and hangs .
Not a problem as no one cares when crafting anyway. Great game BTW will be nice to sort the FPS out in town though.

To compare with something, with a core2duo, raid0 HD and an ati x1900xt-512 i get 20-24 FPS in the most busiest city areas with all settings maxed out and 16x anisotropic filtering. No stutters.
Ram is very important in this game. If you can get 2GB, you must do so. I checked my system and noticed VG was consuming over 1 GB of memory! I've never seen a single process consume that much. My buddy has 1GB of RAM and the game runs well but at times hits his HD pretty hard. My HD, on the other hand, never seems to get hit.
Luckily, i don't need you to like me to enjoy video games. -nariusseldon. In F2P I think it's more a case of the game's trying to play the player's. -laserit
How would my system fare in the game? I played in beta and it was abysmal. But I know my system is by no means "bad".
Intel Pentium DualCore 3.0 Ghz
2 Gig of RAM
ATi x1600
How many FPS on High Quality? Balanced?
Thanks guys!
With the tweaks and texturedetailworld=5 no reason why you can't play on highest quality. I do and my system is similar to yours except slower CPU and ATI X800. Your system will eat Vanguard for breakfast in its current condition, but the tweaks will really help.
Clip Plain in the 500,000 area (aka about half, slightly less)
FPS in open area's (woodlands ect.) = 25 to 45 bouncing --- AVG sits around 30 - 32 fps
FPS in CITY's and townships = 20 - 30 bouncing -- AVG sits around 20 - 22 fps
Keep in mind that VGSoh is not optimised for SLI systems at this time, and TMK Dual Core cpu's are not fully utilised as of yet either. If you have a desktop machine that matches or is close to this laptop..... The game should run fine

With this gfx card you will probably play at balanced settings. If you want to max all your settings out get an ati x1900xt-512.
