I recently 'suped up' my computer a bit to play other MMO's which I haven't really been getting very into (Matrix, SWG...) and have a lot of negative animosity stirring about them with the whole SOE crap, so I've been looking into WWII Online which has intrigued me since I first saw it on shelves but that was back when I was still running a Packard Bell with a Pentium 1 in it. I meet the medium requirements but I'm not sure that when I trial the game if I'm going to have a bunch of problems and have to tweak my settings a lot, which I've never had to do but I understand with the large draw distances of this game.
I have a 1.7 Ghz P4 Processor, 1 gig of ram, and a 128 mb ati radeon 9550 video card. Basically spent under $200 to make an older computer a little bit better, how would this fare with the game?

Playable but not very well I think, you can download it and try offline... if you want to you can do the free trial in my sig (you will get worse performance online due to all the other players around).
Couple more things:
When the trial is over do you keep your same account? Someone was going to help me get a two month account so I could try it out for awhile and see if I get sick of it by then.
When the campaigns are over does everyone lose their rank or something to make everything start over again?
If I wanted to play Germany one day and then maybe France because they were being the underdogs, you have basically different personas where the progress of each one is tracked right?

Yes you keep your account.

No you keep your rank for the next campaign and keep on making progress towards your next rank.

Yes you can change sides after I believe it's 30 min from Allies to Axis. During certain times when one side heavily out numbers another you can change to the smaller side right away. You have different personas in all three nationalities and all three combat arms, air, land, sea.
