"Age of Conan will without doubt encourage, but not force, you to get the best PC hardware possible as it will entice you to turn on trapezoidal shadows, ambient occlusion, fresnel shaders and all the other fancy names. It will run well enough on our minimum specs which are roughly 3 ghz P4 (or equivalent), ATI 9800 / NVidia 5700 and around 1 gig memory. The hitch here is probably the memory consumption so we are working to bring that down."

Finally, some hard numbers. And confirmation that yes I will indeed need to get a new desktop computer in place of my current laptop.

I think im arlight there.. I have an AMD 64 bit 3800+ processor.. and plan to pick up a 64 bit version of vista if it ever released. I have the recommended 1 gig ram, but plan on upgrading in the future anyways, and my video card is fine, Nvidia 6800 OS over-clocked to something insane. Gotta love water cooling!

*pain in the butt getting a new one *
Lets see.. Funcom.. Sigil Games..
In my book, Funcom has always produced much better quality games. Vanguard has a shitty game engine, and people expect wonders from there 4 year old machines.
Yes, I agree. There will be moaners, but there always is. The game is designed to work on a DX10 System. While it also has the ability to work on a DX9 OS, there will be less quality performance. And if people cant take that what their mummy and daddy bought them won't allow them to see textures at the "ultra high" setting or the anistropic filter set to "16x", then, I dont know what really, but its those kind of people in the community I hate.

I'm playing VG fine on my four year old machine and enjoying it. The problem is with the idiots who want all the bells and whistles enabled on a four year old machine. I must say though I'm looking forward to AoC immensely. I loved the original books and even the new ones from Robert Jordan et al. although nothing beats Robert E. Howard.

I managed to run the game on max with a perfect frame rate, but then, some friends of mine who have a much, much more advanced system than mine found it impossible to run. Even with the below average settings. I think it's just a random thing between users and their machines.
I really should add disclaimer notices so I dont sound too arrogant myself
What, you don't trust me enough to use the copy and paste function properly?
Edit: Ah well, here it is, as you can see from the second paragraph, the quoted material was taken word for word. CLICKY

Looking forward to the initial launch, and just see what they have in mind here, but i feel confident that they have done their research, and btw.... half year later release? GOOD WORK FUNCOM!! good some devs know their limits *kicks sigil*
A.) the 360 is a relative beast when it comes to performance, it can do much better than its equivalent PC counterpart simply because it does not have all of those periphrials to deal with.
B.) The two are significantly different versions, released at different times
On the whole, I don't think you can say much about the specs based on it being on the 360 or not.

Crap, not again!
When I started playing WoW I had the minimum requirerment system, and now, when a game of great interest is coming out I'm back in the same boat, minimum requierments boad, maybe I should say a raft, not realy a boat...
Right now i got amd 3700+, 2gb Kingston ddr 400, EVGA 7900 GTX
Moving to Intel Core duo e6400, 2gb kingston ddr800 and the same vid card i hope that with this specs i can run the game in high without the DX 10 bells and whistles lol... (Vista blows)
