Mwahaha, Puzzle Pirates was great, too, but unfortunately didn't hold my interests long term. I'm not really saying anything against a good story or theme with a little drama and conflict, I'd just like to see more themes that are a bit lighter in appearance and attitude. You can still have any crazy old thing you want, hehe.
I still dont see what MMORPG's are "dark" or "Goth". I have played most of them and I just dont see it. WTF are you asking for? A Bozo the Clown MMO or what? Maybe you'd be happier with Sims Online or something though.

Well, that was rude. Clowns are in no way shape or form light hearted. Evil! *shudder* Just the thought makes me feel as though something's about to bite my leg off. Would people be happy if from now on every console action game was about Lara Croft? If every PC RTS game was about Warcraft but with tiny differences, like, "oh, in this one, the orcs are blue!" If ever first-person shooter was about a marine sent to hell? No. You would all whine bitch and moan to bloody freaking hell. But when it comes to MMORPGs, oh, what, are they different? Can they not be judged? At the moment we've got about 20 medieval MMOGs in development, 2 futuristic ones and 1 other one that doesn't fit into any category. Ah, no problem. Like I said earlier, I'd be content with medieval-ish fantasy with a bit of cute animals and stuff thrown in so it just seems more...friendly, but I'd definitely like any new type. Like Ragnarok Online (no crafting, not enough paper-dolling for me,) or Fairy Land (not enough paper-dolling for me either, gameplay wise.) Generally I want something that's anime stylized with some happier emotes and fun stuff, but any new genres are welcome. I expressed my distaste in the first place because I usually spend a good while looking for a fitting online game for me every few weeks, and I still haven't found anything, and was curious if there were any other people out there looking for these things as well. (I meant this thread as more of a "Who wants to see more anime/cute MMORPGs as well?" and not a "GAH all serious MMORPGs are stupid gah I hate them!!1," apologies for any miscommunications.)
I'm lookin' forward to trying CoH, and I hope it does well. In all honesty, we're getting a cool variety of games growing here, with Puzzle Pirates growing slowly, and CoH coming from a major company. Just a matter of time 'til my perfect one comes along.
i think what keii is tryin to say is that all the rpg games out are all dim and dark and frankly, jsut a little creepy. I think thats fine but every once in a while we need a game to cheer us up. A game to get away fromt the hassles of everyday life and enjoy the social interaction between people, go adventuring and whatnot without fearing for your life. Instead of this were looking for a game like this with a happy king to rule over it. TFLO looks like this kind of game,. of course there will be struggles such as the possibility of the kingdom being destroyed, but then it will be rebulit like in the smurfs when gargomel steps on papa smurfs' house. haha, im becoming a bit fruity with my discriptions so i will stop. And he wants a game with monsters with like Wolf, Rabbit, maybe a dragon or two, you know just monsters. A game that doesnt take itself too seriously. (helbreath/dark age of camelot for example)
Personally, there are alot of games like this. I play lineage 2, which i enjoy and I dont think it may be one of the games he doesnt want, (plz dont bash your game, i like, and if you dont thats YOUR problem.)

Sure, there's lotsa dark games out there, but that's half the fun. apparently anyway... trying to 'purify' the evil from the lands... or in my case... spread the evil. -shrugs- there's ample amounts of light hearted MMORPG's... ROSE online for sure... just getting started too so try it out. free for now... see if ya like it. has a happier feel. but remember, those dark games you're bashing are going to be the most common... just because... who isn't tempted by the dark side? -grin-
