The integrated graphics will make it a non-starter unless you have an ATI mobility or Nvidia Go series. My Laptop has a far lesser processor, an AMD Athlon 64 2800+ with 1GB RAM and a Radeon mobility 9800. It runs but on high performance only and struggles badly in towns/dungeons/busy areas. If you don't have Radeon mobility or Nvidia Go series graphics then you will have a problem.

I'd say you're screwed for decent game play even on high performance. You have a Radeon Xpress 200M with 256Mb HyperMemory. That offers a graphics core that is a derivative of Radeon X300 technology. The Radeon X300 SE HyperMemory 256MB is way down the graphics card food chain. HyperMemory also means that the card takes its memory from your RAM, it doesn't have it own dedicated memory on-board, therefore it reduces (steals) the 256Mb from the amount of available RAM in your system.

Vanguard needs a high spec GPU, as they offloaded as much as they could to the GPU. The minimum specs for playing Vanguard reasonably well are 2GB RAM and a Nvidia 7xxx or ATI XT16xx GPU. For gaming it is GPU > RAM > CPU. Still you have a nice laptop for business and general use there, but not for gaming with modern games unless you enjoy slide shows. You should have gone with at least the Gateway NX860X with NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 graphics or better still the GeForce Go 7900 GS graphics option. If you want a laptop to play games well then you really need to buy a gaming laptop, not a general or business orientated one. Sorry.

I'll repeat what I stated in my last post. If you want a laptop to play modern games well then you really need to buy a gaming laptop, not a general use or business orientated one.

Not 'a game'. Any recent/new/forthcoming game. It's nothing to do with Vanguard.

Sorry to hear this m8. I guess your have to play VSoH at the "noob" level, which means all elven characters are shown as squares, all Humans are triangles, all orcs/goblins are piramids, all mobs are circles

J/K bro Hope you get a decent performance from your puter!

I believe your integrated graphics card supports Vertex and Pixel Shaders 2.0, most modern games require this, as does Vanguard. You can probably get Vanguard running, although you'll have to try very very hard to make it look as ugly as possible, there's a few precaching tweaks to help with the game hitching, you said you had 1.5GB RAM, try to get 2GB of RAM if you intend to play games on it since your graphics card shares it.

No matter what you do, you're really going to struggle with Vanguard, you'll just have to put up with it.

What an ignorant comment! Check this out from a UK company: http://www.rockdirect.com/viewNotebook.php?pName=XTREME%20SL%20PRO.

There are many other manufacturers of high end gaming laptops.

You may also have heard of Alienware?
