I bought the game today and I was shocked how bad it is.

in Vanguard: Saga of Heroes

I have a Core 2 PC, 2gig of ram and a ATI 1600xp Pro 512mb graphics card,

This game is no where near as good as SWG was or even close to EQ2.

The Graphics look horriable am I doing something wrong? I'm on Balanced the game lags and the graphics are such a let down.

maybe my settings are bad please respond if you had this problem also.

    You should be able to play on Balanced, but it depends on so many factors in your machine. Defrag your HD, and tweak with the recommendations stickied on the these Forums. Start with High Performance and work your way up.

    As far as the game, coming from a Pre-CU Jedi, SWG Beta Player & someone who Mastered every Profession (most twice) the game gets MUCH better as you advance. Crafting, Diplomacy & Combat become more complicated then anything Pre-CU offered. I will add I still HATE Combat Levels, but oh well.... take what you can get when it's fun...

    I'll start my own SWG... with Black Jack... and Hookers!!!

    In fact, forget the SWG!!!!

    Ahh didn't take long for someone to pull the WoW card!  Sorry, don't play WoW either, even though it is much better than Vanguard will ever hope to be.  I prefer quality games.

    Yup I agree 100%. The game of upgrading video card sux. There are so many things that can go wrong, you can camp the store for that rare  "SPECIAL PRICE ON <INSERT VIDEO CARD HERE> WHILE QUANTITIES LAST" drop just to see some noob SS(shop steal) you to it. You tried to handle workers aggro becuase you keep blocking their entrance and becuase after camping for 7 days straight you start to smell and people throw change into your coffee cup (theres still some coffee there, but you dont care and drink it). Then, the big boss manager comes in, a truly rare spawn! Your eyes light up, your mouth fills up with saliva in anticipation of the kickass card you are gonna buy for peanut money just to be turned back by his innate racial ability to put up a sign "OUT OF STOCK" with a 0.0001 second refresh rate... such disappointment. Yup, it is definitely true, the game to upgrade your video card sux on all levels.

    I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.

    -1 for not understanding simple sentence structure.  Your attempt to extrapolate "the game" as a hunt for video cards was hardly witty and really doesn't make an ounce of sense.  Have fun paying to beta a MMO Flop.

And you are surprised the game is not the quality you expected? What does it take for people to understand "good feedback" and "bad feedback"

    Heh, my post was a sarcastic reflection of your one liner. Neither of our posts make any sense. I mean, you CAN say you dont like something, but without any kind of constructive explanation it just just a simple statement of ones opinion without anything to back it up. For all I know, you may have not liked the name Vanguard, thus decided the game sucked.



    1-liner comments are often associated with baby-talk, you KNOW they want something, but your are unable to determine what exactly they want (assuming poop check came out negative).

    Not sure what the problem could be, I have a similar setup, but my cards a x1650pro. Runs fine on balanced and looks good.

    I think part of the problem is probably unrealistic expectations for launch.  I think alot of gamers today are chronologically immature and have not had as much experience with initial launches.  Games are usually not 100% market ready at launch, and really they are never 100% finished...  It's the very nature of these games to go through constant development and redevelopment over time.  Comparing a new game to one that has been around for years, through many permutations is illogical, apples and oranges...  Invest some time, patience and yes even some $, and you just might get a worthwhile return on your investments.  Then again, you might get a SWG, but let's all hope not!

    I'd say it would be good to get a new video card, it might help a bit.

    I am just glad that in your post you say the Graphics are horrible but also,  you ask what can help! 

    Most of the posts you see are just bashing the game.  

    Unfortunately as the games progress, there will always be a time when you MUST upgrade your video card.

    If this isn't acceptable to some then, don't play the latest games.

    even the reccomended for LoTRO is a P4 2.8, a x850, and a gig of ram. Minimum is far below that
