Voodoo Council - Warhammer Guild.

Everyone who has been in the MMO community long enough knows that one of the best ways to get into an MMO beta is to be in a guild that has that particular Pre-launch MMO as its focus.

Voodoo Council seeks to be such a guild.

We are currently recruiting mid - hardcore gamers with previous MMO experiience.   Friendliness and sillyness is a must!

It is my goal to see Voodoo Council establish itself in the PVP & PVE Arena.  PvP if my personal priority, but our members will determine the deciding factor.

Our first priority is getting a solid member base with previous MMO exp.  If we want to be a dominating force on the server we choose then we NEED a member base prelaunch.  We are only looking for gamers with previous MMO experience.  Maintaining a forum presence is the only requirement at the moment.  Vent will be up closer to launch

Voodoo's leadership structure will be based on a diplomatic foundation.  The expected leadership ranks at the current time will be Officers and Council members.  Both of which will go through a nomination and election process.  Which will not take place until closer to launch.   Every member will have a role in determining the direction of the guild.

Faction is undecided at this time.

Serious gamers only.

Current website & forums are only temporary, the official guild site and community fan site is a work in progress.

- XSeer (GM)

-Seeking active people in the MMO community who would be willing to help in the development process of Voodoo Council.  Including but not limited to: officers, forum admins, website developers, public relations specialist, others.

Hmm...ok, so you're a beta guild that doesn't know if it will be in beta. I think Mythic will be very selective about what guilds they choose for guild beta. This will most likely be guilds who show true interest and dedication through their forums and community. Starting a "beta guild" is basically a gimmick and will only end up attracting those who want a free ride.

"Beta guild" is just a phrase I chose.  How can there be a real guild for a game that you CANT play?  There can't be.  So in a sense, every guild that claims warhammer, would be a beta guild.  I don't supposed guilds forming this early are just going to sit back and not want to have involvement in the beta?

I agree 100% with you on this.  I'm also working on a community site with forums, which will not be a guild site.  When an MMO launches the people who create *new "fansites" do so with the goal of becoming an official affiliate and to support the community.  They put effort into the site, with no promises of ever becoming one...but they have a goal.  My goal is to get this guild into beta, not just for the mere enjoyment, but to assist in the development (reporting bugs, rating quests, suggestions, first impressions, etc).

We are openly recruiting, and while we may attract people who want a "free ride", they will be weeded out.  I want a solid guild, with a decent leadership structure and with tight-nit friends.  How do you make friends with people you havent gamed with? - You get involved and stay involved in the MMO (warhammer) community, which is what I'm attempting.  Thats pretty much all I'm trying to pursue.  Sorry if my use of the phrase "beta guild" offended you.

After beta (if our goal is met and we are able to test) we will move on to establishing a guild presence on the server we choose at launch.

One of the many definitions of "beta" is: "still under testing"  Voodoo Council = still under testing.  Any new vanguard guild in my opinion could be called a beta guild.  You havent played the game yet.  Aside from the fact that our first goal is in fact to get into beta.   Both these meanings.  omg

I stand by what I said.  We are a beta guild, looking forward to getting to know the up and coming Warhammer community.

Ah well, to each his own. I was mainly saying that as a warning, because when people see the word "beta" they tend to go retarded and do whatever they can for a free ticket. You seem to know what you're looking for though, and that was actually a very well thought out response you gave. Good luck with it.

I actually have to disagree with this statement a bit. The guild I am a part of was started back in 1998. I joined them when they moved to DAoC in 2001. We've been together through a large number of games. We are all very much looking forward to Warhammer Online. I myself personally have been following it long before Mythic took over. I was excited when Mythic announced they were picking up the game to develop.

However, this fact doesn't make us a beta guild. We are a guild that has plans to play WAR. Until that time, we spend our time between multiple games. Some of us are playing Vanguard. Some are playing CoX. Others are still playing WoW. But...just because we aren't all in the same game doesn't mean we aren't still a guild. If we get into Beta, great. If not, then we will be ready for WAR when it releases. We will be together after WAR.

You have a valid point.  Cross game guilds that have been together for awhile would be the exception.  I feel like the way I used beta can and is being interpreted in two different ways.

I can start an EQ guild, and call it "Voodoo Council Beta" - that would make my guild sound like it was a new guild I was testing.

or I can write my guild's goal (one of them) down, which is to get into the Warhammer beta.  And self declare my guild as a "Warhammer beta guild".  - Which is what I want.  lol

You can look at it either way, this is getting to tech. for me.

I don't really know, I don't care.  lol  I think my original post is being miss-interpreted.  We barely have any members yet.  We just want to be a warhammer guild, lol.  All we want.   This is one of the few games I've been really excited about.   I want is to form a guild of friends that will still together way past launch.  =D

I should just add beta into the guild name,  Instead of "Voodoo Council - warhammer beta guild"

"Voodoo Council beta - a warhammer guild".

    lol.

If it was me, I'd just call it Voodoo Council, A Warhammer Online Guild. Don't even worry about the Beta part. To me, it would seem like the whole purpose of the guild is to get into the Beta and then after it's over the guild would just kind of disintegrate. By calling it a WAR Guild, you might find more support since people are always looking for a guild. Getting started early looking for members will let you weed out a lot of the less desirables so when you do form the guild, you have a good starting base you can grow.

So, in conclusion....dump the beta term and just go with a WAR Guild.
