Kinda wish I never spent the money on this game.  I played beta and my first couple days after release went ok but Im almost fed up with all the bugs.  Oddly enough, I am more frustrated now than during beta.  I know it sounds weird.

I have a lvl 4 Dark Elf Psyconist and I log on today and I hear enviromental sound effects all over the place and all at once; coughing, sneezing, hacking, growling, fighting, singing, laughing, mumbling,  footsteps and that damn violin sound you hear during diplomacy all at once and over and over again.  No matter where I went the VOICES were in my head!  I relogged, still yappin in my ear.  I try turning down the effects in the Audio panel to no avail.  So I issue a bug ticket but only after asking in general chat and basically the Vanbois told me to shut up and go play WoW or something.  Pretty stupid if you ask me.

People playing this game love it and don't want to hear any negative comments whatsoever and when they do they go on the attack.

Performance still sucks even after getting another stick of ram (2gigs now).  I plan on getting another gfx card anyways but I can't justify getting a new card solely for this game.   But anyhoo, that is a sidenote.

Some of the starting missions are kinda ridiculous when it comes to how many times they make you run back and forth.  In one quest series I had to go kill X mobs, then return to NPC only to get another quest to go back and make a diversion then back to the NPC only to go back again get the poison then to return, blah blah.  Wouldn't been so bad if it the camp wasn't so far away.

So anyways, I turn down the friggin speakers so I can have some peace and quiet, all I want to do is enjoy a new game lol.  So I got this new illusion ability that supposedly "gains aggro" the longer its in battle with the mob. Wrong.  Here I am fighting a noobie critter, letting the little critter beast wail on my l33t illusion for about 7-10 rounds.  I cast my mind blast DD and hit for 35ish and it automatically turns to me and  a little message in the chat window says, that I have established control of the mob.  I try this on different mobs, different skills, no difference.

Just plain broken, period.

And I actually have no one to blame but myself for going out and spending 50.00 on this.  And like I said I actually enjoyed the first couple days and even during beta so I figured, why not?  But now I wish I wasn't addicted to mmo's and wouldn't waste what little money I do have on them.

I guess your not hard core enough to be playing Vanguard. See you in Wow noob Don't you know this is more or less an experiment in human mind tolerance testing? :)

    Kinda funny bug though.

I give the game until April, then the mmorpg addicts (Like me) will try out LOTO). We just gave Sigil a chance by ordering it. After all they had to release early, or no game at all.

A good crack addiction is probably a bit more expensive than this game... although the initial $50 cracksack is a good start.

I really want to try this game, but I may just pass it up for AoC.

BTW, LotRO is much much much worse than VG, unless you are a Carebear that likes to prance around in My Little Pony world while being spoonfed a lame quest.

i believe the ability you are speaking about is called 'Simulacrom' or something like that... it creates an illusionary copy of the mob which deals no damage but generates a large amount of hate, thus keeping the mob looking at it.  What you probably didn't bother to read in the description is how the mob has a chance to disbelieve the illusion and will then attack you.  You don't just stand there watching the mob fight with the illusion... the point is to let you cast on the mob while it is occupied with the illusion.  it gives you time to kill the mob without being hit.   Learn to read the description and use the spell properly before bitching about how its 'broken'

    have fun :)

The pet has a skill you need to cast AFAIK. Necro pets also have an argo management skill.

As for the sound, changing it to hardware instead of software fixed it for me, and there is always the NPC audio slider in options.

The starting missions are just that, starting missions. They do get better.

The "You have established ownership" is an anti-kill stealing feature. It wont activate until you make your first hit, then you get the loot/xp is that creature dies no matter who got the last blow. and i don’t think your pets ability will take effect until you establish ownership.

I will say, this game doesn’t like onboard or integrated sound cards. and if you only have 2-8 sound channels. well, yeah...

Also, fighting lower level mobs wont get you jack for XP.

I like this game, but it does have issues, but the stuff you talk about above...is user error.

and you get a horse at level 10.

I read your entire post, but the only thing I really feel like talking about are your performance problems. They really aren't as many as everyone is saying. The sooner you learn the fact that your computer CANNOT handle the highest graphics, the sooner you will have better performance. I have a mid range computer and happily play on Balanced with NO issues at all. This is not an exaggeration, or a "Vanboi" comment, as you label it. This is a fact. Performance issues are usually the problem of the user putting the options up too high for their computer to handle. Yes, there still are some graphical glitches, but these shouldn't negatively affect your performance too much.

There are performance issues, but I dont see what everyone is freaking out about... i definatly dont have a top of the line computer - AMD 2800+ running at 2.1, 1 gig of ram and Nvidia Geforce 6200 256mb - that is below the 'required' specs and with a few tweaks i can run the game fine.  I do get a little bit of lag going into cities but it is by no means un-playable and NO i am not running on the lowest graphic setting, i run at balanced and can play just fine.

    I like it.

Bugs aren't game beaking, and I'm getting a new gfx card anyways.

You're a tard.  VG is WAY better then crack, have you even tried crack?  I mean, who are you to suggest something that you haven't even tried yet?  Now, I'm not knocking crack or anything, I've never tried it myself, but far be it from me to make a comparison when I've never done it before.  I can't possible give an accurate argument for doing crack having never done it before, and neither could you.  Unless you have done crack before, well then I apologize and bow to your experience, and if you say that crack is better then I guess I'll just have to cancel VG and give it a shot.  Now I wish I hadn't spent the money on VG now.

The title of the post all makes sence now.

    Thank you for the advice.
