Payment

TenjitsuTenjitsu Member Posts: 19

Well Eve Trial was an awesome expierence, and its time to pay.

Seems like paying with credit card, I automatically pay the money each month, and I don't want that. Took a look at the paybycash options and paypal (i normally use paypal).

Question is: Would I be paying automatically each month If I use paypal?

(I would be asking in the official EVE forums but seems like I gotta have an active, paying account to be able to post)

I pretty sure that Pay-Pal cannot be set up to be automatically billed.

Personally, I would contact Customer Support and see what the best billing solution is for you.

Time Cards would probably be great solution for you, since the can be even cheaper than the straight subscription rate, and certainly cheaper than Pay-By-Cash, which charges ~15% service charge.

Pay Pal can be charged monthly and im sure that is how Eve charges through Paypal.  I would go with Game Time Cards.  You order and get your CD key within minutes sent to you email.    ShatteredCrystal is the best place to buy them at the moment.  (Yes shatteredcrystal is supported by CCP as a GTC seller.)

Well Thanks for the input, gonna consider buying a time card from one of their 3rd party sites.

One more thing though, It might just be me, but I read somewhere that if I buy an account with a time card, 20 days get cut off, can anyone confirm this?

I use timecards all the time, and get the full 30 days.

Also, PayPal cannot be setup to take out money each month, as you must send the payments to them.

Okay, so just to confirm. If I buy the 30 Day Time card, I get the full 30 days, even for a trial account being upgraded.

Technically, the system is supposed to take 10 days off your game time to cover the extra $5 account setup fee. However, everyone says it hasn't actually worked properly like that for a long while. So, you probably won't lose any game time at all (slight chance it starts working right and takes off the 10 days). Either way, you get no less than what you pay for.

What sometimes happens with free downloadable trial accounts is that once you start a subscription, you lose the rest of the trial time.  So, don't apply your subscription card until your free trial is about to expire.  (This does not apply when you buy a boxed game with a 30-day trial.)

Can you still buy the boxed game? I thought that they stopped that years ago. I prefer buying boxed games rather than download games.

Yah, boxes stopped shipping late 2003. There are probably a few left out there, sadly tossed into the discount bins.
