a mess, kinda, but it is getting cleaned up
sorry mate but you missed the flame wagon by about 2 months, ppl are starting to like what RV is turning into.
Once Hercules, Jorv buy this game it is all over for the flamers
When those two buy the game, it'll up the population to what? 50?
Like you said, the flame wagon left two months ago, along with most of the game's population.
population will be at 51 actaully
Since all of the new patches came in a couple weeks ago, I have seen the server population bounce back from it's holiday season lows. It's hard to gauge just how big the population is right now as a significant number of players are out in the wilderness areas skilling up in hunting, tracking, and camping while trying to put a dent in the new animal population. In the main roman town of Corst though, we had upwards of 25 to 30 people on at any given time this past weekend whereas in early January, you would have seen 7 or 8. I have also seen evidence with my own eyes of at least 6 barbarian settlements spread across the map which have come back to life.
Augir is to be commended for his efforts to provide incentives for new players. This is an open sandbox, player-driven world, and these kinds of promotions can be helpful to RV as well as fun for those involved. If Augir puts a hamata inside that free house, I might even enter the contest myself.
Now if Virtus will let me know where the guild is living ......

You roma victor fans really need to work on your fanboi skills. Some guy calls the game an incomplete mess and you agree with both points and then tell him to quit flaming... kind of silly, no?
Besides that, telling people that a house has a real world value of 300 bucks isn't doing much to convert the VERM skeptics. You are saying that if someone wants a house in this game it will cost them 300 bucks? You guys may be the RB marketing teams worst enemies.

OR don't give them any money until they actually develop a completely working game? Instead of hoping that the money you pay for the game doesn't turn into a big waste because the game folds from being incomplete, thus not having enough subscribers to fund their beta...er, game? I just love the "Buy it and wait for it to be good, 'cause it will at some undetermined time in the future" posts. They really make me wanna break out my wallet....not.
Tell ya what. If this game is still around in 2008 as anything more than "Remember that Roman game that flopped?", I'll be one of the first to buy a copy.
Edit: I just have to give props to the marketing guy who thought the picture of a "barbarian" who could get his neck snapped like the 90lb. weakling that he is in the RV ads was a good publicity move.
Again i return to correct all the misleading you few left try and throw about.
Indeed not only did i buy the game but i gave it its fair shot .In the last state i saw it ,it still had loads of issues and the extremely low population does not help.
Also virtus stop trying to grab folks by claiming "u get your money back in a few days".The offical forums was plagued with ppl waited ages to get their refunds .Find other pointers to convert people pls which are actually true.
Back to augir post.I think its a brillant idea mate and good luck with the contest.!
