Confirmed: Exploiters Banned

I just got off of another site were someone who was bragging they were able to Exploit a Quest to LVL 28 was now complaining about being Perma-Banned from Vanguard. He said they checked his logs and there would be no review, lol...

Gotta love it

I'll start my own SWG... with Black Jack... and Hookers!!!

In fact, forget the SWG!!!!

20? There's 3 I use; Vanguard Vault, Tentonhammer, and Silky Venom....Those 3 alone have a big population. (But you wouldn't know that, since your own little MMOG is trolling the Vanguard forum here).

Silky, Ten Ton, nor Fires of Heaven have any mention of this.

Have to call BS.  FoH would have been all over it by now if it was true.

Is it so hard to believe that we'd ban people that exploit?

    Nope its just idle banter

How about you spend less time posting and more time fixing the fps lag in that pos game of yours?

I dont think this is a smart decision on side of Sigil

The game is full of bugs. Most of them break the quests , or kill you. So most of these bugs cause you to lose hard earned xp.

So when someone finds a bug that lets you gain xp - sigil is quick to ban.

Than what should people that lose xp do - ban sigil ?

In game so full of bugs you are bound to find all kinds of bugs , some overly eager players would use them - it is just human thing to do.

I think Sigil is really shooting its own leg

I think instead of banning the guy they should just fix the damn quest bug and go on with their lives.

So if someone gains 25 levels in one day in the exact same location without reporting anything to a GM, they should be given a free pass?

Cool, just let me know when its fixed then I might actually try it out again. Then possibly Sigil won't be considered a crap company that releases games before they are ready just to hit a release date like their partners SOE. Funny thing is I found myself defending Vanguard and Sigil saying "SOE is just publishing, Sigil wouldn't let this laggy mess go live." Instead Sigil released in true SOE fashion and proved me wrong.

Player boats, player houses, tons of mounts,  even has PVP! Too bad you couldn't enjoy a nice 50 man on 50 man battle when you get 17fps standing still. Vanguard was almost a wow killer imo

There is a difference between discovering a bug and exploiting a bug. I agree with the perma-ban for anyone who abuses a bug while not reporting it.

To put it more in perspective, look under Level History:

And some of you are assuming that it was a simple quest bug on our end and not a malicious attempt on that person's end.  Apparently, Big Brother is out to get all of you

And what with people that lost several levels due to bug ?

    Should they ban Sigil ?

Really. You should resetted the guys level, fixed a bug and go on. Like this you lost one customer that is not a very honest one, but he is surely not hacker, boter or whatever , just because he found a bug and decided to use it.

    Not smart at all

Again, you're making the assumption that "he is surely not hacker, boter or whatever."

To quote yourself, "not smart at all."

Why not?  You want a free pass for releasing a buggy, incomplete game don't you?

This one's on Sigil, not the player.

Seriously?  If you find a bug and don't report it, that's one thing.  That's called "I'm not a beta tester."  You can, however, be a good samaritan, but ultimately, it isn't your responsibility as a paying player.

Now, exploiting a bug that you find is something entirely different, particularly something like a broken quest that allows you to get absurd amounts of experience.  Just because a bug is there, doesn't mean that you have the right to take advantage of it.  I, for one, fully support his ban.  I mean, reset his level?  C'mon now.  That's a virtual slap on the wrist, and you know damn well that if that player finds another bug, he's going to exploit that one as well.

    Ok

So i payed 50$ to play buggy and unfinished game.

It is like shaking hands with Sigil and saying "I will give you the money so you continue developing the product i like to play , and i will not mind the bugs until than"

So I played , and played many times loosing XP and dying due to this bugs. And I say to may self - Sigil is working to fix it.

And than I come over a bug that actually gives me XP. I say to my self "Ok other bugs took my xp, this one gives me xp..great"

And sigil bans me for it

I thought we had agreement to play the game WITH BUGS

    Didnt we Sigil

So either clean all the bugs, and than ban the people

Or have plethora of bugs , and acknowledge that some of them take and some of them give xp

You know this one sided thinking always bugged me

If its good for us -> You are playing bugged game , and loosing XP , but you pay and not complain - than this is great

It is not good for us -> You are playing bugged game, but you actually found a bug that is TO YOUR BENEFIT - Than we kick you
