Hey I don't play AC anymore, but I just wanted to start a topic for AC veterans that have ever played on Darktide.

If you got any stories tell them. If you got any suggestions say them. If you have any comments about the piles of newbie bodies at the starter outposts, let them rip.

I personally laughed my @$$ of when I saw PvP in AC. It seemed that Darktides modo was "Gank the Newbie".

I tried the PvP thing, didnt get far before i got slaughted..then i gave up and went back to my main char on another server.

100% Darktide veteran right here.

Played Darktide since beta... I still play a little bit but nothing like the days of old. The game is too overrun by 3rd party apps/macroers/xp chains for it to be really any fun for me. I'll get on and 'gank a few noobs lol' every now and again though .

Turbine needs to open up a new pvp server.

- NO MACROS
- NO 3RD PARTY APPS
- NO XP CHAINS
- NO HOUSING (or if housing, no barriers)
- MAKE LEVELING TWICE AS FAST AS NORMAL

This would be the ultimate game ever created. Period. Unfortunately, I can only dream. =(

I've also played AC:DT since AC first came out...

3rd party apps and XP chains screwed things up, and while turbine is addressing the XP chain issue, its too late Xp chains or not, there will still be macros and other apps.

As to Nostalgia from Darktide...where to start?

the mercs? eastham beach? early baishi and og? Lava and TVC? Ayan and GEN?...

For those of us who played DT for the first 2-3 years, we all have many many stories which I'm sure we wouldn't mind telling

Aye laddie. My favorite moment was when I was a level 35 swordsman(when everyone was ua spec) and I killed a level 105.

Of course he was imp/vulned 6 or 7, but hey, thanks to my dsl connection I sticked his butt. I use to play with one of my local friends.

Anyway that was before everyone was 126, probably early 2002 or mid 2002. Anyway the old DT is gone, unless they do a reset.

Deus Ex my #1 pick for all time greatest single player game, on all platforms.

I played Harvestgain for a good while after release, then went to Darktide for a few years. Now I"m back on o.O Frostfell. PvP rocks in AC. But after awhile just got tired of not being able to go anywhere I wanted. Besides the new PKLite helped out. It's still fun to PvP with PK Lite. I didn't think it woudl be but I was pleasantly suprised.

I've never tried PVP out, and honestly not too interested since I tried PK Lite here and there, got my butt whooped, but I did gank a few other heros here and there. Darktide seems interesting to me, the only problem is if I did try it out, I'd end up dying about one million times before reaching a decent level due to the fact that everyone sits there and kills noobs as much as they can. Alot of younger kids on that server from what I've seen, or adults acting like younger kids, lol.

But if that's your thing, hey, power to ya!

Keep fighting that fight.

lol.. i played at dt a little while... i wonder if anyone remember when like 50 of us newbies jumped Blood at the hub(as we say in thistledown, subway for the rest of you folks) and killed him by draining all his stam and he kept getting hit for anywhere from 1- where ever (for those who don't know, no stam = no evade) and then afterwards, we got hunted down by his allegiance.. lol

I started AC on DT in 11/99 but I left before summer 00. Those were some good times, but I could never go there again - not unless they did a wipe and strictly enforced the CoC. Otherwise, I'm perfectly happy on LC 0.o

If you've never started out on DT, my suggestion is don't bother at this point. I was on DT when PK Lite first came out. I thought, like most of DT, wow what a joke. But then I went too Frostfell after one of my friends left DT to go there, and I was suprised to find out that PK Lite has almos the same satisfaction as normal PK, but without the pain of not being able to go places I wanted without getting ganked. PK Lite is almost just as good as DT as far as if you want to be competative. But if you want more of a challenge, and I mean a lot more of a challenge, then DT is the way to go.

Darktide is a blast. It is very tough to get started there if you dont know anyone, but it is quite possible (I did it). The key to it is getting out of the starter towns. After that, it gets much easier. Crack open AC Explorer and find a remote location in your level range according to the monster redistribution map, claim it as your own, and put some levels on. Eventually you will meet a guild that fits in with your playstyle.

DT is by far the most involving experience I've had on any server. Every day is as tough as the first, it is alot of fun. If you keep a open mind, expect to die alot, and try not to let yourself get frustrated you'll be fine.

LOL ya I remember being involved in a noob ganking of Blood. He just ran though, tried to fight a little but of course he's to afraid of dieing to stick around.

Silly Blood, skills are for people who didn't buy their accounts.

Heh I remember running around as Revenant Locke with my awesome trained bow and UA dying to lvl 14 chars at lvl 28 . I've left DT since then though and I now currently (actively) play on MT. I fina PKLite to be just as fun as PK, and I don't have to get ganked by 4+ bloods or whatnot.

i myself played since the beginning too

and i think it had been the best game ever so far

i agree to the upper post except making the leveling faster, no housing..well that doesnt matter,i do think xp chains 3rd party apps and macros screwed the game..if they would put up a new pk server i would probably reroll and fix those issues..maybe especially the macro one..i d restart,anyone else shares my opinion?
