Possible return to FFXI...thoughts?

Looking to return to the game after leaving it several months after it's North American launch.

Is it worth the install?  Has the game changed a lot since the release?

I am worried about not being be able to find groups, the assumption being that no one will have low level toons as everyone has leveled up.

Thoughts?

I've recently taken ninja from lv 1 to 37, and ranger from 1 to 38.

There are plenty of partys around still.

And everything is cheaper than a few months ago due to recent RMT bans.

    Very nice.

I would be most interested in working a samurai, if that's a viable class.

Any thoughts on what I should begin as?  I've heard starting as a monk works as a good "spring-board" for any of the melee classes...does this still hold true?

Also, is it possible to perhaps grab a buddy key from someone?  This would allow me try it out with paying for a month just to get started.

    Thanks in advance.

What most people would say would be to take MNK to 18, unlock subjobs. Level WAR/MNK to 37. Then get SAM, and level to 75 subbing WAR.

But SAM also subs THF later on as well. So I'd suggest getting around to that some time too.

    Sweet, thanks.

Having an issue though...don't think I will be able to actually play.  Seems I cannot retrieve my Play Online information and the registraton codes I am trying to use are already in use.

It's frustrating that one cannot find out about information their own account.

Yeah, Squeenix is a pain with the whole account retreival.

If worse comes to worse and you really wanna play. The game plus all the expansions is only like 30 bucks now.
