mmofps = monthly rate, need for obscene amounts of memory
Neocron definitely qualifies as a mmorpg. Fps based mmorpg maybe but its still a roleplaying style game. Check it out if you don't mind being treated like crap by the service dept.

Technically WWii-Online is an FPS although it's not as fast and furious as Planetside, and it markets itself more as a simulation than an FPS.

It all depends what you want from an FPS though, I find the traditional small map FPS game to constrictive, MMOFPS give you more scope to move around, organise tactical attacks not just the solo run around shooting that same guy but, each to their own I guess, some enjoy that type of game.
WWIIOL is a MMOFPS on a grand scale. You can check it out at http://www.wwiionline.com/. I've been playing it since it's release 3 years ago and it just keeps getting better and better each month. The Devs are friendly and even play with us. The only downside is it's true PvP and has a steep learning curve due to all the various realistically modeled avatars. You also really need to work with your teammates to accomplish things.
There's no Free Trial currently, but when the 1.14 patch is released in 4-6 weeks there will be another round of Free trials again. Also, when you purchase the game, you get a Free Month, without having to give a Credit Card till the month is up. Payments can also be made thru PayPal and by sending Checks in directly.
Yeah, it's hard to play any of those small scale FPS games now. WWIIOL has runied me for nearly every other game on the market. I've yet to find another game that compares favorably with WWIIOL. Planetside certainly doesn't it do it for me. Way too boring and not nearly as immersive. WWIIOL has it's faults, but they're mostly due to needing a very good computer to play on, not with the actual game itself.

Life can be tapped
Um no...WW2OL is more massive, and more FPS than PlanetSide will ever be. No flame, just pointing it out
Sometimes, it is better to say nothing at all. Cause big mouths results in big words, and big words travel like bacteria.
