I am very excited about this game. The best part to me is the classes. Sure, some of it is standard fare, but some of it is really new and extremely cool!
My one reservation is that when I look at the concept art, I just drool. But the videos - um, the graphics are nowhere near that. I realize they are not going for photorealism, but still, there is an early Nintendo feel that I find offputting.
I really hope they step it up a lot in this department. I would easily settle for graphics as good as WoW, but so far it is less than that.

I think the developers have been holding back in terms of showing us the best of what the game has to offer. That being said I think the game looks more than solid, considering they still have a year or so to go and in games development graphical polish is the last thing that happens, or at least it happens slowly and progressively up until the game is launched, I wouldnt be concerned about how good the game will look.
Furthermore a lot of the art is of high tier characters, most in game characters we have seen are tier one or tier two. Again a lot of Alpha footage has been shown, but that hasnt really put me off. The game looks pretty amazing and I it will only get better the further things go. (Gametrailers for some videos and check the newest in-game screenshots that have been released). No idea how much you've seen but I wouldnt worry about the games look. And I cannot agree that its less than World of Warcrafts graphics, different and not finished.
btw, check out some of the youtube videos, for some reason the unofficial vids are normally better than the official ones in terms of GFX.
Hey, i wouldn't worry about what you've seen of the graphics in the demos etc. Firstly, because it's alpha/early beta - secondly, it's a crappy resolution video - and thirdly, it's alpha/early beta...
Until you see it in all it's glory in high res on a big monitor with the graphics cranked up, you can't really tell how good a game will look. When i see the demo vids of WAR I usually think - "hey.. it looks okay.. but it will look GREAT on my set up".
I can understand but when they are faced with great shocking graphics or reducing lag in large scale pvp fights. i hope they choose reducint lag in larg scale pvp fight 90% of the time.
Keep in mind the game is still in alpha and alot of the fine tuning as not been done yet. Hell if you look up DAOC alpha shots they were literally stickmen... i mean literally stickmen.
I just gotta say it looks awesome! Looking forward to the RvR!!!

it would really be challenging then!!!
The GFX ... may not be next gen (brand placement DX10), but hey i signed on for the mechanics. so if they can pull off the the instanced battlefields with world results that impact everyone... Count me in!!!!!

We heard this discussion a lot before, but now is a good time to make it resurface.
As some of you might remember, I too was concerned anout the graphics level (no, i do not care if they are cartoonish or not, i like the style) after their first pvp video was released. Now, however, after the big press event and the movies released after that (you can see some here http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/warhammeronline/media.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=tabs ), I'm much less concerned. These new videos looks great. Animations is much more fluid and believable and the equipment looks real and not made of cardboard.
So, I would not much be concerned about the looks so far. BTW: damn dwarves look tiny in comparison to black orks!
