Thanks for those pics of those mounts BTW, but does anyone know where I can get some solid info on the classes like the Bright Wizard and some cool vids on the gameplay.
I saw on an interview with Paul (on Youtube, he was at some gaming show), and someone asked about Dwarven mounts. He said that Dwarves would have mounts, and they were talking with Game Workshop about what the Dwarf could ride, they would not fight mounted. He didn't say anything about the other races. Though, the way he said it, it sounded like mounted combat is at least being considered.
Seriously. It's Are'el. This forum doesn't allow apostrophes in usernames.
Combat on mounts would be awesome. Even better if ramming into a enemy on foot with your mount would hurt them to without using a attack. So you could get a group and trample enemies under your mounts.
I haven't heard about Mythic putting any mounts in the game when they should, they could come up with some sick orc mounts that would be awsome.
YES! - there will be mounts. And yes, all the races will get mounts - even dwarfs.
Greenskins will probably get: Boars, Wolves and Spiders
Empire will probably get: Barded Warhorses and normal horses.
Chaos will probably get: Chaos Steeds and Discs of Tzeench
High Elves will get: Warhorses (really fast ones, usually).
Dark Elves will probably get: Cold Ones (they're like raptors, but nastier), and Warhorses
Dwarfs will get: Who knows? - GW and Mythic are still in discussion about the Dwarf mounts.
There will also be fast forms of travel - Gyrocopters are in, Norse Longships are in - Dwarfs have some kind of steam-powered vehicle too, and at a guess there will be flying creatures like Griffons, Pegasus, Dark Pegasus and Wyverns. Chaos will probably get some kind of Chaos portal, or a really disgusting creature of Chaos for fast travel.
The only thing I have heard about engaging in combat from the back of a mount, is that Dwarfs specifically will be unable to do it. This makes a lot of sense because they'd never dream of fighting from anything other than their own two, sturdy feet. As for the other races fighting from mounts - my guess would be... Maybe...
Horses, Chaos can as well have some other deamonic mount, but the Empire/High Elves are sure to get these, if they get mounts at all).
Orc Boars
Goblin Wolves/Spiders
Dark Elf Cold Ones
Chaos Portals (Portals are in, but usable is not yet confirmed.)
Other means of travel can still be implented, and I'm sure they will.
About mounted combat: It is plausible that it both gives advantages and disadvantages. It is confirmed that characters can't instantely turn (sorry, have to use this example), like in WoW, where you could jump more than 360 degrees. In WAR they turn more on realistic terms. ***Speculation *** What this does with mounted combat: Give more speed and probably attackpower. But you can't turn very easy. This gives the chance from your opponent to charge you, before you can reposition yourself for another charge or start to find a better defence. The rider probably gets a damage penalty for other attacks as well, as he can be more vunerable on the mount (=shields are harder to position, often only at the right/left side, while on foot you can put it infront of you).
They could do it as well, that your mount can be killed (of course temporarily), so you can fall of and overwhelmed on the ground.
But remember, it's only speculation, so it does not mean that mounted combat is truly in. I'm just summing a few examples to assist the possibility.

These are Goblin Wolf Riders from us.games-workshop.com/games/warhammer/orcs/catalog/goblin_wolfriders_box.htm and also the Goblin Spider Riders from
us.games-workshop.com/games/warhammer/orcs/catalog/goblin_spiderriders_box.htm
If we get mounted combat, I am very much hoping this becomes the High Elf Heavy Tank profession from

I would Love to ride a giant boar. Plus if it had the ability to level (ie. grow longer or more tusks) it would be the nail in the coffin so to speak.

More or less confirmed travel-devices:
