Soloability?

I've got a buddy key and the client is downloading.
Im wondering what is the games soloability like.

I was soloing as a shaman in wow and that was a lot of fun.
What i really liked about WoW was i could solo doing quests, do crafting or harvesting and then when i wanted to group id just LFG to do an instance and it seemed like a perfect balance.

When i played EQ2 i chose templar which was a bad choice tbh because a lot of the time i was left soloing just because there were so many quests and i had to do some solo and templar wasn't a very strong class for soloing, and i tihnk thats why i lost interest in the game as i i didnt want to reroll after having a lvl 36.

Don't get me wrong i like playing in groups just sometimes i want to do my own thing.
So is it possible to solo at all?
If so, what would be the best class?

So far i have pretty much played the entire game Solo but tehn again i am High Elf Level 9 Paladin

You get a nice amount of XP from quests you are asked to complete, there is a nice indicator on teh game when you click on mob in upper right you will see its details and a littel dial, 1-2 dots is easy enought o do 3 dots you may need help and so on

Only Red named mobs will aggro so you can pick on teh yellow ones to your hearts content, i cant say best class since i have only played as Paladin but each class seems to have it own quirk, i mean i spent a good few mins killing a mob at level 8 only to have a level 7 sorcerer kill it in 2 spells !!!

Rememebr you dont have to kill everything you can craft and do diplomacy or harvest if that takes your fancy

im not playing Vangaurd atm - but from my beta exp (lvl 19 shaman) - the game is "pure" solo up to lvl 8 or so and then its mainly party (with a few quests for solo - but not as many or as hard as the party) - however some quests dont require "full" party (6 members) - u can just team up with 1-2 guys and do some quests (which are build for this kind of group).

Depends on the class you pick, I have a 21 necro. I can solo group mobs easly, even 2 at a time. So far I have been soloing lvl 22 3 dot mobs. Just cast slow, fear, send pet, dots and reapeat.

You can also solo 4 dot mobs as well, because the necros can convert health into mana. The 4 dot mobs will take about 5 mins, but still easy to solo. Haven't tried any 5 or 6 dot mobs.

You can solo in VSoH, but the most efficient leveling is done in groups.

I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.
