Was wondering about going with FFXI, since L2 looks like a loser. Having been a FF fan until FFX (square having produced so much of the same stuff since FFX just made me so sick, in my opinion last great title was tactics unless this one is good) Could anyone give me an overview of the game mechanics, skill tree/job tree (since these are pretty much the most decisive factors for me, since I am familiar with the game play from other media)?
I am an AO veteran, and unfortunately a RO(worst mmo game possibly) vet >.< so feel free to lay the terminology on me thick. Link would be just fine thanks in advance

And I agree with you that the last great FF game was Tactics. And yes, I played FFXI for quite some time.

yeah still haven't signed up my acc yet, cos i am alpha testing freeworld. I am getting bored of it tho, seeing as there still isn't any magic.
FFVII was the best, along with FF Tactics.
FFVIII once you got into it and got used to it was good. I liked it much more the second and third times I played it.
FF9 i got bored after an hour and never played since.
FFX - I hated this game for the longest time, but i forced myself to play and beat it, and some aspects were amazing, but its pretty lame all the same.
FFX2 - I saw this round a friend. A group of girls that you get to change the dresses of. Thats it. Oh yeah ur looking for that idiot Tidus too... great.
FFXI - from what I have read i think its great apart from the fact that it relys quite heavily on grouping if your gonna get good XP. I am gonna sign up over the next month and i hope that its good enough to keep playing. Otherwise its a waste of an import.
FFXII - Looks like X crossed with VII taking the negative parts from them both hehe. Lets hope they do well with this one tho... cos I am a die hard FF fan... and saying a FF game is shit is like my mum saying your shit in bed.
