Are you going to quit?

When I started playing, I never thought I would quit because it was too fun. However, about a year later, I quit after level 53. Many reasons..

I think everyone but the obsessed will quit at some point.  And it will have a lot to do with their ability to add more content and features, like expansions.  I quit about 3 months before BC came out, and only came back to play the content from the expansion.  Once I get tired of outland, BGs, arenas, and the new races, I'll quit again.  I'm not the raiding type, so there is no longevity for me there.  And I'm not sure why you made it an option, but from an MMO standpoint, yes, WoW is better than GW (which I don't even consider to be an MMO)...

Should add the poll option "already did :)"

I have not bothered to come back for the expansion, almost 2 years and I'm ready for a major major change, a LOT more depth, and I just needed to get away from my friends in game ;) I know that sounds bad... but when you know people for almost 2 years online, you seem to turn into a problem trashcan. Granted this didn't happen with everyone I know... but enough of them ;)

Everyone will quit sometime, there comes a point in your gaming career where you just say "good god, I've been bored for 2 months and I've been denying it!" The next day you have a lot of shards to hand out and you're posting on mmorpg.com 10 times a day.

No one has bashed WoW yet in this post.

It's looking to be more of a "are you planning on quitting and why" post.

Who said the people that have posted don't like it? I would not have played 2 years if I wasn't enjoying myself, and I doubt the OP would have played to 53 without liking it.

Our opinions don't mean you can't enjoy it for the rest of your life, by all means please do.

This thread is pointless, no matter how great a game is, you will quit at some point.

True... but look at the positive side of things...

For those of us not playing Vanguard and not posting in their forums anymore (ooo unless it's a really interesting topic) even pointless threads give us a chance to see something else in the recent posts list ;)

Uhh..... what a weird poll. Why the hell did you put "but it's still better than Guild Wars" as an answer? Are you completely sane?

I have been playing since release day, and I think I'm finally ready to quit. It was really fun while it lasted, but the expansion didn't really do it for me and I would like to move onto another mmo.

i've been back and forth between taking breaks etc... and i dunno. I enjoy the game on my rogue. like it has been one of the best toons i've ever played. they are fun, and hated by so many in PvP but yet are so essential to anything that happens. This aside, yes, i did buy the BC and i have enjoyed it, but i just dont think its going to cut it for me for too much longer... to be honest i'm currently finishing up a bachlors in criminal justice, going into my masters program while picking up another bachlors at the same time in IT, and learning quantum theory at the same time for enjoyment.

I've kinda reached my wits end with wasting time in 12hour dungeons. I've enjoyed them but its to the point where i'm really missing games where i could pick up and play and put down at any time i chose. Yes, yes i know many will say you cant just "pick up and play" in any mmo and i acknowledge this and i know that the BC has corrected some of this, but i'm still horribly tired of it. I really, really, really dislike having to be depended on to show up to go on an all night raid from 9pm-1am+, 3+ nights a week.

i'm also tired of bashing orcs and dragons etc... i need something knew and exciting with a fresh taste.

Enjoy it while it lasts, eventually everyone will move on to a newer better game.  You have to remember it's just a game and they keep getting better...

Hell yeah I'm going to quit. Probably this year. Many reasons... and I don't even have a level 60.

The game is starting to bore me. I have a level 46 Dwarf Warrior... When I reached level 40 I stopped playing for a while because I thought the game wouldn't get any better. I was wrong and started playing again. But my Warrior is boring me again so I just started a Tauren Shaman. It will bore me eventually but I hope that that's after I conquered Outland and got a flying mount. Then I say bye bye to World of Warcraft. (And hello to WAR).

    current game:
    world of warcraft.
    how original

I've played off and on and the only enjoyment I've ever derived is from pvp and some of the low level instances. For the last few days, I've tried grouping which wasn't too fun, and I tried soloing which to be honest, is so god damn repetitive and without really much challenge.
It has it's moments, like when you to invade some outpost. But so few, and far inbetween. Looks like I'm going to have to upgrade my computer and play Vanguard, and perhaps refind the thrill of mmorpgs again.

Well i was pretty much played out on my priest and couldnt see myself bringing him to 70 and i had actually never played a shaman. So i figured id start a draenei and am enjoying myself quite a bit so far. Now i must say the last few lvls before outlands are a bit tough to chew through, but not a party pooper at all. Actually feels like a half new mmo since i'm playing a class that i dont even know the spells im getting the next lvl. So yeah ill probs be playing for quite a while still.

*edit* might be smart to add that ive been away on international work experience for the last 6 months before bc .. so i was pretty mmorpg starved before i started tbc hehe.

I quit this game after buying the boxxed game and never subscribing/canceling subscription....overall found the game wasn't different enough to City of Heroes that I was playing at the time, so quit....

This is a very polished game and it is fun to some extent, but one of the main points I didn't like was I didn't feel heroic enough, and in City of heroes I could take on a bunch of mobs at the same time, but in WOW if it was more than one mob I had to run or die....Even remembering running wasn't really that easy, so almost always died....It was years ago so the running part is pretty vague, but I remember thinking I was having more fun in COH than WOW because I felt more heroic, although I did leave COH too and heard also that COH chagned their combat to not let you actually feel like a superhero....more like WOW

    ==========================
The game is dead not, this game is good we make it and Romania Tv give it 5 goat heads, this is good rating for game.

I don't think I'll quit WoW, I find it as my other "online community" and things get better as time goes by. I played DAoC before and quit but when the newer expansions came out i felt bad because i should have had a lot of fun but i sold my cds and closed the account.

i'm not gonna do the same thing to WoW this time :)
