Well I have read many "Wow!" and "Yuck!" topic and reviews on this site.
And well it made me wonder, what is good in this game?
What's innovating, a lot of people said it was just like EverQuest in a new coat or a copy of World of Warcraft.
So why should I buy them if I have EQ and WoW.
The user rating is high, I mean it's the highest in rank, I've read many reviews in magazines (they were all "Wow! What a game!" and things like "This'll be bigger than World of Warcraft")
But is this true?!
Oh and I ask you to make some sense in your comments, this means I want arguments, not just rants or praises.

It is in need of alot of work but i have to say the stuff they have done so far is still very enjoyable. I was in your shoes last week wondering who I should believe when reading all the reviews and you best bet is to either get the budy key from or just impulse buy it.
If you're bored with your current game then i suggest giving this a try if you don't mind alot of bugs(alot of them aren't that bad and willn't ruin your gaming experience). I ended up just going to the store and just buying the game so I could get my fix until a better game came out but I found out this is almost the game I always wanted. This game is still a long way from being number one but as long as they continue working on it this game will have die-hard fans till it's dying days. I hope this helps.
if you do decide to get the game I suggest you play on the FFA server Tharridon and give Rachide a /tell.
The good:
The world looks great, although you can't always reley on good FPS
There is depth, both of lore and of feel to the game
Lots of races who feel quite different
Lots of classes who play differently as well as for the most part not being locked to a single role
On Infinium I've not met anyone who was a real arse, the closest was a kill stealer in Qalia (but for some unknown reason they the least friendly - no idea why!)
Crafting has depth
Harvesting is fun (group harvesting is better)
Patch rate - they're really on top of this, patches daily during the week
The bad:
To play on good settings you need a decent setup - 2GB+ Ram and a decent gfx card (mines a X1950 and it plays pretty well most of the time)
Being hit with all the options can be daunting at first, my tip take things as they come
Some bugs - nothing game breaking so far though
Some features not yet delivered - fellowship, advanced mob system etc.
Unknown:
I've not tried diplomacy to any level of note, but some seem to love it. Unfortunately for my group the guy who I thought would love it (regional finalist at Magic the Gathering a few years back) things its too easy!
Well thats reasonably balanced, for my pennies worth - its a good game that will get better, worth being on the ground floor of
Currently Playing: GW2
Currently Following: Elder Scrolls Online
Games in my wake: Anarchy Online, Archlord (beta), Asherons Call, Asherons Call 2, City of Heroes, Dark Age of Camelot (SI to Catacombs), DDO, EVE Online, EverQuest II (beta), Guild Wars, Horizons, Lineage II,LORTO, Rift, RF Online (beta), RYL, Saga of Ryzon, Shadowbane, Star Wars Galaxies, Vanguard, WAR, WoW
What I think is...
...good:
- Many races to choose from with all different racial abilities
- If you are a storyline follower very thrilling and immersive storylines
- Great environment though your system has to be pretty high grade
- Very good combat system with the rescue/counterattck abilities
- Amazing crafting system if you are a crafter(I wasn't but I like how things work and maybe becomming one)
- A plethora(am I spelling this right?) of mounts beginning with many kinds of horses and upgrades(that actually show on your mount). I spotted the first camels already.
- Player citys(though not randomly placed) and player boats.
...needs work(read: getting fixed every day):
- Quests. Even in the early lvl's some quests were bugged. Many of them are fixed now, but when low lvl these things should work.
- Maps. Horrible mapping system. The worst I've ever seen. No managable point of interest. Unclear were to go for your particular quests. Just unclear.
- Empty world. the parts of the world where you can quest there's loads to do and see, but the parts that should be for higher levels(my guess anyway) are totally empty. Only speaking about the Qalia north eastern part though. Haven't been much around, but it give a pretty good idea of the emptyness.
- performance. Like I said. You need a retty high end system and even then when many people are around it's better to tweak settings down a bit.
Well that's it I guess. I may have forgotten some things but tha majority is there. Hope this makes you choise somewhat easier.
Honestly when the game first came out, I wasn't too excited about it. I was having too much fun in WoW with the Burning Crusade expansion pack. However, when I ended up getting a buddy key from a person here on the forums, I loaded it up and was truly amazed by the diversity of the races and classes. Right off the bat I knew that this was going to be a game I could play for a long time and I was correct. There is so much depth to each sphere of development (adventuring, crafting, and diplomacy) that I could easily just do diplomacy quests all day and never become bored.
Another thing that impressed me was that most of the races has their own unique starting point. This really told me that Sigil cares about the little things in their game and is why I will be purchasing the game when my buddy key time is over. They pay a great deal of attention to the small details that make the game better overall, and I can see that the game will only get better with time. It is true there are some bugs, broken quests, and glitches but nothing I have encountered so far has been game-breaking in the least.
I will warn you though that the game doesn't seem to be as linear as other games. If you enjoy those types of games, maybe you should think about buying it.
All in all, it is a fairly stable game with gorgeous graphics, great sound, and an amazing amount of complexity.
Should read lots more about it.
But.. ehm... those player cities and boats how do they work?
And the diplomacy?
I'm thinking about waiting for a month or 3 and check again on the bugs and such.

If you get upset over stupidity easily...wait. There are alot of bugs that make you say...wtf? Im only lvl 20 crafter/16 Ranger so I dont know much of the upper content for this timeframe, but so far, it is a good game. Its basically a mix of EQ1/2 and apparetnly WoW(never played it so i dont know), with some elements of Horizons (players building houses, the housing plots and building idea itself).
If you play consol games, then you wont mind spending $50 for this game, youll definately get your moneys worth.
If you have a game you're enjoying now.. wait. The game needs content and debugging in a bad way. If you're ready to move on to something new, Vanguard might be worth a try.

Waiting 3 months sounds about right that should take it to the originally planned release state. It will probablly allow you to pick up a free 10 day pass and hopefully allow you to compare it with some of the really big titles that should be hitting open beta around then.
